Diego Costa

Conte is Italian and maybe a hot fuse (very likely). Diego is the father of all hot fuses. They had an argument, said things in the heat of the moment. They have been bromancing for weeks now. It's just the media trying to make a storm out of a teacup - even if Conte had said what they claim he did.

There is a lot of pressure in top professional football, I think those rows are so minor and common. It's such a nonstory imo.

It doesn't mean Diego won't end up in China eventually (I believe he won't), it doesn't mean it won't involve an apology, it doesn't mean it won't feel a bit awkward for a small while, but this happens, especially when an Italian such as Conte is at the head. It comes with with package. He won't show passion only positively. Sometimes it brings this stuff. I've moved on already.

y the hell did Mour sell in the first place.

For exactly the same reason that no Champions League club wanted Lukaku enough to make an offer for him when he was being hawked around this summer.

Well, is Costa said he was feelling his back, medical staff said he had nothing, and Conte was behind the medical staff, and even told Costa to "go to China", I will start to question Conte ability to manage his players. That game where Costa asked to be substituted and Conte refused was a bad sign, since the game was over, and Costa was not needed to get a positive result at that point.

Ok, someone will say "read Pirlo's book" to prove Conte is really good in managing his players, but he is in a different environment. A former Juventus legend working in Italy for Juventus is a different animal than being an italian guy in a english club full of foreign players.

It's all maybes at the moment, but the idea that Conte's refusal to take Costa off was a bad choice has things precisely backwards. A player does not decide when to come off as long as he is healthy. You do not demand to be taken off because the result is safe. Conte did perfect in that situation.

He never enjoyed living in England, nor even the place to be London. He did his best in the 14/15 season, ignore the 15/16 horror season, and so far this season as well.

If he wants to leave in the summer, then grant him that wish in exchange for him giving his all and shooting us to the PL title.
I never really liked Diego. I love him for his fighting spirit and goals but his personality is way too difficult and sometimes unprofessional. It has improved under Conte but... Diego and Conte are huge hotheads so maybe that's why there are problems between them at the moment.

Anyway let's all get behind him and support him until he leaves us.

WTF???? You are crazy man. Conte changed Costa attitude which is miracle. Diego is this season except that one moment when he wanted to be substituted, very calm, they have a good relationship together. You know shit what happened and you are questionining Conte abillity to manage his players?? LOL.

If it happened as I said, I will start to question his ability to manage his playersm since our best player us now in a situation where his future is in doubt.

Seriously, mate!!!

Just one incident between 2 hotheads and you start questioning the manager!!! All the good work in getting the team together as a unit and getting the best even from the average players goes down in drain.

I feel the manager should always have the ultimate say in any matter at the club because he is one who has to take the sack when things are not going right. If the medical team has provided their assessments how would Conte not believe them? Conte is a disciplinarian and wants the team to execute his plan exactly how he set it up. Now just because your best player doest sync with it doesnt make the manager bad. Plus the fact that good players bully the club a lot because they always have another club to go because of the money makes the manager looks helpess. I like the fact that Conte is showing his authority and if Costa wants to throw tantrums then like Conte mentioned "Go to China"!!!!

As a fan, I would still want them to sit down and sort their difference because Costa is the lone striker that Conte believes in ... Plus the fact he on his own is a force upfront and on form. Continue the good run here and then if the tensions are there summer transfer is pretty much on the cards.

Costa rejected £200k offer before bust-up

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/costa-rejected-200k-offer-before-bust-up-xg9tjlfxs

Diego Costa rejected the offer of a new contract at Chelsea before last week’s bust-up with manager Antonio Conte.

Chelsea are believed to have offered Costa a five-year deal worth £200,000 a week — a £50,000 weekly increase on his existing wages — but the striker was unwilling to commit himself to the club.

The Spaniard has since received a staggering counter-offer from Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian worth £570,000 a week, which Chelsea officials fear has turned his head. Conte claimed that Costa’s absence from Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday evening was solely because of a back injury, although other sources are convinced that his reluctance to train is connected to the offer he has received from China.

Costa has some sympathy from his team-mates, who believe that he does have a genuine back problem, although he is giving off mixed messages. He is understood to have told some team-mates that he is committed to Chelsea and wants to stay, while contradicting himself in other conversations by expressing a desire to move to China.

Such volatility is not unusual for Costa, who has previously expressed both contentment and unhappiness at living in London. His mood swings have given Chelsea problems, with his real intentions unclear. There are two schools of thought at Stamford Bridge: that he wants to move or that he is using Tianjin’s interest to gain an improved offer.

Chelsea are reluctant to offer more than £200,000 a week, and talks have been placed on hold after last week’s training-ground row. Costa will not be allowed to leave this month even with Tianjin willing to pay an £80 million transfer fee. Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea owner, will not sanction a sale.

Conte is planning to reintegrate Costa into his squad, although it is unclear how long that process will take.

Sky Sports.

This is what I found on Sky: "It is understood Costa's representatives are now asking Chelsea to double his wages to £300,000 despite the two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract, although one source insists he is happy at Stamford Bridge."

I was more interested in what source(s) convinced you of this as fact? This above paragraph suggests that Sky themselves are not certain of this.

So many stories going about and none of us know exactly what is correct, just hold on with finger pointing and calling people cunts without clear facts.

Agreed, even Alonso is saying the press made up most of the info. Now it seems different papers are reporting that some "friends" of Costa is saying that he's accepting a truce with Conte while others are saying differently and he's fed up with England.

Take your pick.

For all we know, Costa had back pain and after a brief argument, Conte and his staff decided to just let him train on his own so that he wouldn't exacerbate it with further contact in regular training.
