He was so shit today. While I burst out screaming when he scored, let's not get ahead of ourselves. If someone genuinely believes Costa anything short of shite, then pardon me for bursting the bubble. Yes, he scored the winner in both games, and yes I am grateful for that, but fuck me. His dribbling, his passing, his intelect as a whole is so low. He doesn't know how or when to pass. I counted more than three times he could have played Hazard in behind the deffence. He did not. Because he can't. Simple. And I get it, he's limited, but fuck me, we were so electric when Bats came on, it's not even a joke. He became a shadow, until he popped up for the goal and he was so close to missing it with his shite controlling of the ball. Don't get me wrong, I really like the bloke, but when his goals and luck not being sent off dries out, we'll have a problem. And by that time, everyone will probably have his head on a plate.

Its obvious the lads going to get some bench time and I do wish hed turn it down a couple of notchs but I love his fire and enthusiasm. I wish a bit would rub off onto all the lads. But are we going to need another striker or put Eden in and Moses on LAM?

Having him with Bats is a great option and needs to be done more. They compliment each other.

He scores goals. In this case got us 6 points out of 6. 

Yet some people find time to shit on him. Sure he is not at best, but not a single player in our squad isnt at their best. 

He is here his 3rd season and apart from injury period last year, he scored regulary and performed at least ok. Im still waiting for his 'lose shit and get banned for half year'. Meanwhile his scoring is more than just luck, I would think after all the good seasons he had.

Costa scores goals. And as long he scores them, Im happy. He is who he is. If he likes to provoke as long he is not in opposing team, fine. 

If he gets suspended, we have Bats. If not, his fight adds spirit to our team. 

He doesnt have great linkup. So? Hazard doesnt score 50 per season. Ronaldo sucks in every final. Suarez needs 3 chances to score one. Ibra goes missing in many CL games. Etc etc. 

Costa has been decent at ball control for long time. He was also scoring alot when not injured or recovering. But yeah people expect him to magicaly dribble past 10 players or sth. 

Days of Drogba are over and currently there is no better striker on market than Diego. 

Or would some of you lot want a player who "is good overall" but wont score to save their life? 

Damn Costa with his personality might be problem, but is one of few who actualy gives a shit in our team. 

People been saying this for a while now. Whole summer. Sell Costa. Blah blah. Now two games in season, two winning goals that saved our asses from distaster of a start. 

Mind he is playing with Pedro and Oscar, Matic, Iva and other lot who cant pass a fucking ball. And then you expect Costa to perform brilliant over 90min. 

I would just like people start appreciating our players and more importantly supporting them.

"Get rid of him!!!!" and bring in who exactly? There is no number 9 we can get that improves on Costa atm. There're a very few players in world football that can improve us on top there at the moment. 

People focus way too much on his weaknesses and don't appreciate his strengths much at all. Dude has won us two games in a row where we haven't been the best with some clinical finishing, cut him some slack.

You didn't get my point. I am not hating on Costa THAT much. I don't want him sold. I want him to play combinative, when he obviously can't dribble and be fast in his passing and decision making. I've been defending him for a long time and I love the bloke, but I don't want us to be so reliant on him. Guess that is where my frustration is coming from.

Its funny how costa this season seems to be what people feared lukaku would be, just with more yellow cards  i'm not saying lukaku is as good as costa, its just an observation, but some of the criticisms seem eerily similar to why we shouldnt sign lukaku

Costa makes so many infuriating mistakes and kills so many moves because of his rubbish first touch / technique.

He very nearly ruined Fabregas' pass yesterday and made it harder than it needed to be because of a shitty first touch.

He scores goals but my goodness he makes me so angry during games.

Exactly this lol, he's getting goals so it's hard to argue past it. But it's like justifying Lukaku because he's got around 100 league goals at the age of 23, sometimes it's looking past stats. Honestly, I don't even mind about the yellow cards etc he's a very fiery character which is a huge part of his game so it is what it is.

But when our own strikers kills more moves than the opposition defence you can't help but be frustrated.

Saw stat, and Costa has the worst dribble completion (somewhere at 20%). Over the past two seasons in the PL. 

The less Costa touches the ball during our build up play, the better. The only problem, as we've seen in the opening two fixtures, Oscar, Matic and Pedro aren't skilled enough to link up with Hazard and break teams down.

Diego Costa gets booked for dissent because he is Diego Costa.

Plenty of other players (who have goody two shoes reputations) were giving refs backchat and escape punishment.

Its not excusing Costa and he needs to recognise that he cannot chat with refs (wonder if they understand his limited English anyway) but there needs to be consistency across the board from refs and not be swayed one way or another  just because of who the player is.

 

Now..on the technical side of thing...the alleged bad touch when he scored actually worked in his favour as I  think the goalie was expecting a more direct touch towards goal.  Nevertheless, it was still a fine, calm finish from Costa once he had control of the ball
