the wes 7,212
We value Costa £40m and they value Griezmann at £85m why don't we give them Costa and £45m for Griezmann ffs xPetrCechx
BlueStorm1003 539
To think we could have sold him to the chinese for god knows how much. Atletico are really taking the piss offering such a low amount, and we will be taking the piss if we accept it.

But that would have been in the middle of a season where we were leading the league without another striker in the team (Conte didn't play Bats at all). Don't think we'd have liked that one bit, especiall if we had messed up the league. oldportblue

Special Juan 28,141
We don't hold any of the aces in this transfer. Said player wants out, and if you believe reports the manager wants him out, the team wanting him know this and are offering minuscule cash. I'm fucking tired of this whole shit Costa affair TBH. xPetrCechx

Please fuck no. As good as Costa is at his best, I can't say I'd miss him. His antics are disgusting. And I'm not talking about being a thug on the pitch, I kinda liked that actually, but all the off-pitch drama with Costa is just boring and I can't wait to be rid. Three transfer windows in a row he has been unsettled and wanting to move and last January for me was the last straw. He had his head turned by Chinese money and wasn't the same for rest of the season, almost train wrecking the whole season for everyone at the club. Plus fighting with Conte in training about the Chinese offer too. Can't afford to have someone as volatile as Costa at the club. Even at the rumoured £22M, which for a player of his talent is kinda insulting, I'd say get him as far from the team as possible and fast. Last thing we need is for the club to reward him of all his bullshit with a new contract. Thanks for the goals, will never forget Costa leading the line for two title winning seasons but time to move on. Mufassir08 and MefiX19
Chelsea? 892
A new deal would be cool. But no if he's just staying on his current deal with intentions to return to Atletico.

Thanks for the goals, will never forget Costa leading the line for two title winning seasons but time to move on. I was initially of the same opinion as you (amazing player, very annoying and disruptive off the field so we better get rid) but am starting to rethink that. It's true that he's been a nuisance during almost all transfer windows but it's also true that despite that, we've won 3 trophies in 3 years with him as our main striker. I guess what I'm saying is that if Conte and him do manage to patch up their differences and Costa gives Chelsea some sort of assurances as to not being disruptive off the field, this whole mess we've enduring this transfer window might yet have a happy ending. If he refocuses, signs a new deal and it is clear in Chelsea's mind that he wants to be here (maybe not ahead of Atletico but still), we could save a lot of money that can be invested into great players that can help us way more than if we simply dropped 100M to go from Diego to Lukaku (which arguably is not even an upgrade)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Blue Armour and Clockwork

Blue Armour 4,439
Keep Costa, sign a good striker to challenge him, hold onto Batshuayi,...that would be ideal. We need a strike-force of 3. Even as good as our potential targets, Aubemeyang,Morata and Mbappe, are as forwards and all round play...we need the goals to come from somewhere. Without Lukaku, Costa is our best bet for now. Strike 7,489
Is there a centre forward available that is better than Costa at the moment? I would keep Costa ahead of Belotti, Aubameyang or Morata. Push the problem to next season when the market for strikers will be different with Griezmann, other promising forwards continuing to develop.
cosmicway 1,333
Granted we had bigger men than Costa in the past. Ossie, Didier ... But you ditch Costa only if you have Pele in the pipeline ! Â
