In the same breath let's all agree Coutinho has done much more than Fabregas and has way less deficiencies in his games (assisting seems one of them)... the things those journalists write.

He played better some recent matches, but still not to the level of the first half of the season. His level dropped considerably, it's undeniable. It's also undeniable he led us for months in the competition we're about to be crowded champions. You should always take any Guardian related Chelsea/Mourinho article with a pinch of salt. Many of their writers don't like our club or/and manager. Yes, Fabregas has his strengths and weaknesses like every player in world football, but he's still had an excellent season and is the best central midfielder in the league. He's been a very vital cog in what has been a season of complete dominance from Chelsea, something Ronay states in the article.

Does someone have a gif of his pass to Oscar ? I don't think any other present day footballer can play that pass. Very similar to his pass to Costa during the first leg vs Arsenal. The weight, the flight, and the accuracy from 40 yards out is just unbelievable. I am pretty sure Costa would have converted that.

I don't think they generally rescind yellow cards unless it was mistaken identity or something. Cescs yellow for "diving" against Southampton never got rescinded. We're top of the list for cards for diving, but most of them weren't even dives.

Name a better midfielder than him who can do what he does. I can think of 2, Koke and Gundogan. And both are not viable to buy...because we have Cesc.

Yes, he can be put under pressure easily but Oscar can cope (and next season when he's stronger he'll be more able to).

Very Harsh. Everyone can be sloppy under pressure but I personally think Cesc is the calmest player when he's being pressed, you often see players turn to him for a pass when we they need someone reliable to keep possession. Obviously he doesn't have the pace of Willian or Eden to help him or the Physical presence of Nemanja so a good pass is generally the best he can do under pressure. Still miles ahead of Mata in that aspect though.

He is no Iniesta but he can dribble, he would be a lot better at it if he had a bit more pace unfortunately. Also his overall passing has only regressed in the second part of the season imo.

Other than his passing ability, he runs effortlessly for 90 minutes pressing or making himself available. he is the king of width, vertical passes/runs/space occupation.
