If he's gonna be Mikel's replacement, let's just keep our NIgerian.

But if we can get 15m outto Mikel and get Song for 10m, then it will start to make sense. If we lose money in this deal, then Song's not worth it.

Song would be homegrown so that's got to be worth something.

Selling Mikel for around 10m and buying Song for roughly the same price makes sense IMO.

but song will be our 5th DM. no point in buying a 5th DM when his job can easily be done by someone like chalobah (who also counts as HG or u-21)

Home grown status?..Its gonna come free if we bring Chalobah to the side.

Goes well for the kid's development and also gonna silence a lot of critics blaming our loan system.

have Matic, Fabergas, Ramires, Van Ginkel, and Mikel right now as central midfielders. Matic and Fabergas will play almost every game and Ramires will play a lot. Even if we sell Mikel, we really don`t need another central midfielder (5 players for 2 positions is too much). Besides, what would be the point of selling Mikel to buy Song? Mikel makes more sense for us as he can come in and cover for Fabergas late in games as a defensive specialist.

It depends if we keep the pivot or revert back to a 4-3-3 which I think is mow far more suitable for the midfielders we have.

We are also still not certain where fabregas will play, there is the possibility that he plays as the number 10 if we keep the pivot.
