Interesting. So we're replacing a guy who is still on the roster? My bullshit detector is going off. Sounds more plausible that someone from Kroos' camp is trying to drum up ridiculous rumours to get him a new deal.

I think we should not buy a new midfielder as our club is heavily stocked in that department.

Van Ginkel hopefully has an injury free season so we can get to see more of him.

The United drama and all that Moyes scouting should have gotten him a new contract.

Kroos is on a €3.5 per annum contract. He wants it dubbled. Apparently Bayern have made it clear that €5m per annum will be that last offer he will get. In response, Chelsea said "wages not a problem" should he decide to leave.

I'm also a journalist here in Romania (I know, Romania, but at least we have the best Journalism and Mass Comunication College in Eastern Europe) and rumours don't come out of nothing. Now, if Mourinho will bid for him or not, that's another topic. The beauty of silly season! :)

i thought he said he's staying at Bayern

Said he expected to. Bayern won't let him go on a free though so if they're not confident he'll sign a new contract then I'm sure they'll try to cash in.

It's all falling apart from Pep

????????????

one of our most glaring problems apart from our ST position was finding a consistent partner next to Matic.

Lampard will leave soon, Rami is good some games otherwise totally reckless and horrendous, Van Ginkel has just recovered from a cruciate after being out for a year, Mikel is o more a regular. and could be sold to be replaced by Tiago. Could move Oscar there, has played a couple of times for Brazil at the Olympics but id rather we buy a specialist CM

For some reason my whole post did not publish. What I meant was that we have countless midfielders in our squad and there are many who are on loan. Van Ginkel has played in Defensive Midfield before, so we can try him in that position!

again mate, we have countless , but DO NOT have an injury free consistent midfielder who we can rely week in week out on !

I don't think Tiago is the answer to that problem though. We need somebody younger. Tiago would be a short term solution. We need to find a long term solution as well.

Interesting story in El Confidencial.

http://www.elconfidencial.com/deportes/futbol/2014-06-16/mou-ofrece-8-5-millones-a-kroos-y-complica-el-fichaje-del-aleman-por-el-real-madrid_146986/

Jose wants Toni Kroos and he will offer him a five-year deal worth €8.5m per annum. Another team interested in him is Real Madrid - they've already talked to Kroos' agents and they have made it clear that they won't offer him more than €6m per annum.

Jose sees Kroos as the new Xabi Alonso and even asked Florentino Perez to sign him at the beginning of his last season in Madrid. Now he thinks this is the perfect opportunity to sign him as Guardiola is "forced" to sell Kroos.

Where would you play Kroos though?

I don't think he'd join Chelsea to sit on the bench

Next to Matic. Cesc as the #10 and let Oscar and Willian fight it out for who goes on the right. Or 433, can't keep everyone happy, it's a fight for places.

I just don't think we need Kroos though (unless Oscar leaves)

A midfield group of Matic, Rambo, Fabregas, Oscar, Van Ginkel, maybe Chalobah seems good enough

Anybody can explain why he wants to leave? I don't get it. He played many games last season, and looks vital part of new Bayern, has it all to succeed under Pep. Think all that rumours only to push for new deal, can't see them to let him go.
