There are question marks about Pedro being a starter. We've need someone close to Hazard's level on the right for years now. I've said it many times but it's tragic how underrated the job that Pedro or Willian does for the balance of our team. Yes we could possibly look at bringing in someone who might offer an attacking upgrade but would it be to the detriment of the team. Freeing up Hazard last season had a huge effect on the team and having players like Pedro and Willian who are happy to be the support act to Hazard, and work extremely hard on the pressing, tracking back, etc to give him more space and licence to roam and exploit is important. kmk108

How many times are we going hear the Hazard time this season? We're aiming to win both the Prem and CL. The options at our disposal aren't good enough no matter how you look at things. We can't be solely reliant of Hazard to pull us through and have no ideas when he's absent.

Finding an upgrade over willian is not required right now because we have far more urgent need on wb and backup for our midfield. Once this problems are solved we can start thinking about upgrading our right wing option.

That's why new WB's are our main concern right now.

Popular Post! Mufassir08 2,400 Posted August 12, 2017 Popular Post! Share Posted August 12, 2017 Gotta appreciate his commitment as well. He has his limitations but you could see he was giving his all for the cause and gave an absolute peach of a cross for Morata's first. I agree, but I must say I expected much more from him since we brought him in. He is so inefficient with goals and assists and takes ages with the ball. Sad to see so much talent and speed in a player, but no reach the heights he could have.

He is probably our best player when it comes to speed and pure technique. He is on the same level as Hazard on that regard. Yet Willian does not have the same speed of mind nor the instincts to reap the rewards of that.
xPetrCechx 13,570
useless for 70% then, created something and people think he has a good game. you need to know if willian is our best player, we are in trouble. kellzfresh

Willian was not bad or good, he was just Willian, running through midfield with the ball carrying it nowhere. But when the other players in attack are Boga or Batshuayi, yeah then Willian is our best attacker. Can you beleive we sold Mo Salah and KDB and keep Oscar and and now play Willian, Boga and Musonda? xPetrCechx and kellzfresh

robsblubot 3,595
I'm not a big Willian fan but football does not take place in a vacuum. Looked like one of the few pulling his own weight today. funny how options are... Mata is one player I do not miss at all and have not been impressed by him at united. Pizy 18,909
I love Willian but like a couple of years ago we saw today that if he's our primary, go-to source for creativity and incisiveness in the final third we're in trouble. He's brilliant as a foil for Hazard or someone world class on the opposite side but he can't shoulder the load on his own. He does so well in the build up but is so indecisive around the box. This is why Pedro is often favored. Still, he's a warrior and I'm glad we kept him and refused Mourinho's advances.
BlueLion. 21,491
Absolutely love this bloke's attitude. I would go as far as saying he was the only one showed showed some bollocks in the first half. What a stupendous cross for Morata's goal, too. bigbluewillie

Should've gotten another assist as well, if only Morata had more sense to leave Christiansen's shot (which looked like it was going in)... But I still don't like his standing still routine and suddenly shifting to the right with a kick-stepover..slows down our play and allows opponents to regroup. Willian is an immense player when he's carrying the ball forward, in fact almost unstoppable when he's dribbling at pace on the counter... kellzfresh and BlueLion.

Not sure about Christensen's shot, Sky showed a really good angle from behind the angle that the ball was struck... I genuinely believe it was going to come back full off the post. Any striker worth their salt has to gamble on the one at the back post, so I can't really fault him for that. But I do entirely take your point! He's better than a lot of people give credit for.
