Chelsea Football Club can confirm Marco van Ginkel successfully underwent anterior cruciate ligament surgery today (Thursday).

The 20-year-old midfielder is expected to be out for approximately six months

I think it's six month till he can start training again. When he can actually get back to playing football at this level is another story. I think it will be till next preseason till we see Marco again, unfortunately

And I think he will likely be not be with Chelsea next season. Recovering from this injury is difficult and takes a long time and a loan to give him regular playing time somewhere else will probably make sense.
