I had a hard time of picking a MOTM. Both Mikel & Hazard's inclusion were immense. IMHO telly tubby messed up by not having JT in there. I like to believe that both manure goal would not have happened if JT was there. I know the lil' pee is a stretch, but I definitely feel JT would have helped to prevent the Rooney goal.

to say our fixture list is now fucked is an understatement.

should we get through to the next round of the Europa League we don't have a free midweek until between Saturday 13th (Man City at Wembley or Spurs at home) and Sunday 20th. This would mean we would need to move a league game. Add to the fact we still have to reschedule Fulham away then we would probably end up with an extra midweek game or two in May as well

Think it's fair to say that the second half performance is what we all wanted to see. Fight, desire, determination and passion in wanting to win the game. Didn't have any hope whatsoever before the game and the first half performance showed why. It was just awful especially defensively where we gave away yet more cheap goals against United! Could have easily been 3-0 or 4-0 down at HT but luckily Cech made some crucial saves after his somewhat blunders for the two goals. The performance was much better in the second half and it owed to introduction of Mikel and Hazard. Benitez selected the wrong starting XI but credit where its due in regards to making the changes very early in the 2nd half. From there, we were just dominated. Mikel and Ramires owned the midfield. Defence was good. And in attack, we were causing major problems. We really should have won the game given the chances we had but would have taken the replay anyway after being 2-0 down at HT. Plenty of positives to take from the 2nd half. We just need the players to show the spirit, desire and performance on a more consistent basis!

And to top it off, Spurs lost! It was a completely turnaround of the miserable feeling I had earlier on watching those 2 games.

Alex Ferguson is the coach version of Rio Ferdinand, if he was allowed to be on the pitch he'd probably do the same unsporting and immature behaviours, if not even worse. It is these two cunts that make me truly hate this team, not to mention the vast majority of their arrogant fans. I hope we smash them in the second leg.

on the way home from the game. Rio you absolute bellend cunt.

did you see the elbow that rio threw & torrid? Coming from him, I can understand. W/ his lack of talent that is the only to neutralize torrid  then to make matters worse, here in the States we had Ian Wright as a color commentator. All match long wright was going on how it's a travesty that rio is not on the English National side. Then to top that off, wright took jabs @ CFC & especially Ashley Cole. He made sure he pointed out every bad play Cole made. I really hate the dirty red mediawillis.gif

The sad thing about these encounters is that all Utd need is a bit of luck or a slick move/good ball and they lead, whereas we put in a hell lot of effort, though never or only close beat them, even though we have been all over them and should have comfortably finished the job. We must be more clever and clinical. We are so much more talented and committed in these encounters but they always snatch a result they do not deserved cos they do make the most out of their chances. Also their keeper may it be Howard, van der Saar or now de Gea always is at his very best in matches against us whereas either Cech or one of our defenders or both always have a blackout against them. I mean Luiz and Cahill might not be the creme de la crema of centreback pairings but they are still leagues above Ferdicunt+Johny "referee-approved kungfu-killer" evans.

Voted for Luiz, he was so good all game. Wanted to chose Hazard but i chose Luiz as he played the whole game.

The real Chelsea finally showed up today. We've came back from 2-0 down twice against Man Utd this season and beat them in the League Cup from 3-2 down and 2-1 down.

Play like we did today and we'll be safely in the top 3 and will win the Europa League. FA Cup is still tough.

When were Chelsea Founded? 10 march or 14 march?

Good catch there buddy. 108 years ago today:

Chelsea Football Club were founded on 10 March 1905 at The Rising Sun pub, (now The Butcher's Hook) opposite today's main entrance to the ground on the Fulham Road
