I actually still see no problem having Cech AND Courtois in one team, Cech also replaced Cudicini when the latter was only 31 and he still stayed with us for 4 more years. Liverpool had Dudek and Reina for a long time, Every Bundesliga club normally has two absolute quality goalies. jack Butland is okay, but Turnbull also was ok at the time he joined us, he was about the same age btw. This move only makes sense if we line up him as future Cech replacement which would a shame considering we got a much better option right now.

IMO I think the club are worried that if Barca do come in for Courtois, he is going to want to make that move. Hence Butland will be number 2 if the report is true.

RE.Jamal Blackman, will probably never play a game for us competitively, infact I'm quite confident he won't, in the same way Matej Delac won't, despite the huge potential he was meant to have had,

well your right, forgot he is only 19, different situation then.

We can get more than 70 game sper season, 35 each is about as much as a player should play anyway. Cech picks up injuries allt he time and we do not now if he will last as long as some hope. We can not allow a talent of the cenntury like Courtois go to waste. Cech is past his peak already, even though he might have some world class years in him yet, we will not have a squad competing for CL+PL anyway, given our policies will continue.

Hilario and Turnbull contracts are expirining on 30.06 this year so they will leave the club in the summer . We will have Cech , T.C. and Blackman . Cech will not be our N1 GK forever . T.C. will spend the other season on loan again . So why we need Butland ? Because :
Blackman on loan to play some professional football-> maybe in Championship.T.C will be back at the club in the summer of 2014 if we don't sell him .Butland could be our N1 GK from the next season for me ! Another fact is that we need English players . 3 millions for a GK who could be one of the best of the world is nothing . Sign Him !

Basically its either cech or courtois and i can't see us getting rid of cech who is world class for coutois who is very likely going to be world class. Which is the fact of the matter, even if it is more logical to go with courtois in the long run i personally cant see cech going anywhere and why should he when he can be world class for at least another 5 years. So either courtois is no 1, at the end of next season, or he will be probably be sold because he is too good to sit on the bench... Jack butland is better than turnbull and hilario but isn't too good at this stage to be sitting on the bench every game with the exception of maybe a cup game or two. So wouldn't be a bad backup and potential successor to cech.

Turnbull's off at the end of this season so yeah, a home grown goalie is what we're looking for and Butland is an excellent option if he is willing to accept being number 2.

Crazy business, but that's what this club is about I guess. Butland isn't a bad keeper though, it's just a shame that we may not see the potential of Courtois (potentially)

It would honestly make me sick if we part ways with Courtois. Will be the best keeper in the world soon. The absolute ONLY way I could accept it is if Falcao was involved.

Really hope we don't lose Courtois. It would be a terrible shame. Goalkeeping talents like him don't come around very often. If we let him go we are really going to regret it I feel.

If we are signing him as a Courtois replacement then the board can go fuck off. Courtois is 1090008 times the keeper he is. Butlands decent, overrated slightly, had a good Olympics but hes fucked up for Birmingham this season. If hes getting 10-15 games a year then yeah maybe he'd be a decent buy for 3 million. Hes better than Turnbull, Hilario and Blackman at least.
