LMAO. It's like Djimi Traoré commanding respect because of his champions league medal.. Give me strength smh -_-

Ahah, I didn't even know who was this Traoré XD

If all the players who have won the World Cup - because they were at the right time at the right moment - were claiming respect...

For instance, Stéphen Guivarc'h is a "Wold Cup" winner, lmao.

You sucker. The very few minutes you've played during this competition, you were ridiculous.

He did a lot in 2008. In 2010 he was injured I believe, but was still played. He didn't do much, but he did set up Iniesta for the winning goal in the final. It's a little contribution on a big scale.

Granted, I don't think Spain deserved to even win WC. Some of the most dull/boring/luckiest displays I've ever seen, not to mention the incorrect offside against Paraguay.

Holland and Germany for me last WC.

Mate your feelings are known towards Torres ,no I am not a fanboy but you obviously read a translation tha was misconstrued .He stated in Spanish that The euro and world cup achievements by the squad should be respected ( collectively) Nevertheless how many professional players have achieved those honours? No need to disparage those that have won it ! You have to be in it to win it.

Yep, good point Sh0n3x. He has a great run of matches to play in. He's already screwed himself once by getting sent off against Swansea and hence missing the Bolton, Everton and QPR matches. Before that sending off, he was looking as if he was gradually finding some good form. After the sending off... his performances have gotten worse and worse and he is now at an even lower level than last season.

I honestly don't think he will ever get back to the brilliance that he was in the 08/09 season because of the injuries he has suffered. But he is still capable of becoming a solid 15-18 goals a season striker. He has shown glimpses that he still is able to produce some decent level of ball-control and finishing (the goal against Swansea, the goal against Utd as well as that run against Utd where he took 3 players on and produced a superb save).

I think it is purely his attitude that is holding him back. The "lack of service" excuse has gotten old. The Torres of Liverpool was able to produce things out of nothing. Yes, Liverpool were tailor-made to his strengths by providing him with fast balls, but a lot of it was down to his pace, ball-control and movement. He needs to put his head down and work his ass off for the next month to find some form and prove to everyone that he is not a flop.

Agree, the Swansea sending off was that final nail in the coffin, he was beginning to find form & could of kept Drogba out of the team if not for that sending off, his own stupidity has spoilt what chance he had of kick starting his Chelsea career. Before he could use the "lack of service" excuse playing with the likes of Malouda who were clearly unwilling to pass to him but now he has the service, his poor attitude & lack of trying is holding him back. January and the next few months are make or break for his Chelsea career, if he fails. It's goodbye to him in the summer.

Defintly and thats an annoying thing just as we begin to get a glimpse something happens..banning etc and then he comes back looking the same as before

He's gotta show that he wants to be here in January and really its the only chance he's gana get to prove what he can do because while Drogba here he will get overlooked and if in the period he doesnt make an impact...or even looks like he's bothered then no doubt offskis come summer

Shit-stirring from the Mail. That part of the interview roughly translates as follows (a general statement about the Spanish NT rather than his own situation):

Torres: I think that we have been through so many things together that it’s always hard when important players don’t play. That was the case with Marchena, Senna, and Santi during the world cup. It hurts us all, we all talk about that and I think that doubting any of these players who are European champions and world champions is disrespectful. It’s always nice to see that your teammates believe in you and want you to be there because they see you as important to the team ...

That chested volley in the first half in between the two defenders was a fantastic bit of skill. Unlucky not to have scored.

played REALLY well today, looked very fast and annoying for defenders... probably the first game where when he had the ball i wasnt afraid of him losing it... held up the ball great and showed real skill on the ball...

bravo torres, lets string together more performances like that...

Really well ? If he played really well, I think there is no adjectif to describ how Messi plays.
