TrippingStep 336
He was rightfully mad at the ref today..The ref was awful but Torres seemed pissed very early in the match. He even could have been awarded a red card when he put his foot on the legs on a player that was laid down in the pitch. Spike 12,049
Reaction was towards Torres' brilliant contribution. However Squawka claims he made 17 passes. But I'm inclined to believe the match stats more than Squawka.
Jase 43,479
Torres is just really an enigma right now. At times, he looks to be really interested in the game and others, he just doesn't seem to bother at all. His goals are just papering over a huge crack and it only served to give him some respite from time to time. What really frustrates me at the moment about Torres is that whenever he's on the ball, he always tries to take 2-3 players on by himself thinking like he's Messi or something. And more often than not, he always, ALWAYS loses the ball. People always talk about how our midfield can't keep the ball, can't keep it simple, Torres should also be blamed for that. He doesn't want to keep it simple by passing the ball to a nearby teammate and maintain the possession and because of such silly action, we would always find ourselves getting caught out on the counter, needlessly! Not in playing style or anything, but in my mind they fit into the niché of "Striker that are afraid to shoot". I feel he tries to make sure that every shot results in a goal rather than taking a pot shot like nearly every other foward in the world would do. I think he is afraid of failure and afraid that his finishing will be called into question. It's hard to criticise his shooting when he doesn't take too many shots. Spike 12,049
He has been wrecked, psychologically and mentally!"SHOOT!" - A common scream when Torres is in and around the opposition box. Always disappointed but never surprised when he tries to dribble past 4 defenders and the keeper.
BleedsBlue 1,549
I actually laughed when he stormed off.I am not sure what he would have differently in the last 10 minutes as the spaniard always expected the ball to be passed to his feet.Credit to RDM for subbing him off and giving Danny the cf role instead of the usual winger role. Torres was hardly doing anything when he was on. Sturridge did well when he came on but 10 minutes was never gonna be enough for him to really make an impact on the game. meetdoscar 335
I still don't get y pple are criticizing torres, drogba during his prime had players like Robben duff j.cole lampard kalou essien and later anelka ballack deco most of which are world class players at a glance playing behind him consistently and Yes he was a big game player too but wat has torres got bertrand and ramires neither of ehich are world class wingers with hazard who is still young and no where near lampard at his prime. So unless I see oscar mata hazard or moses playing consistently behind torres to give rhythm to our attack Ill always blame the coach ahead of torres bcos its not hard to see Y we don't create more than 3 chances in every game we play. worst case scenerio RDM will b sacked and a manager who has eyes will put those players in to play. Y sign potentially world class attackers and put them on the bench even garcia made his debut for Mcity against stoke y can't OSCAR or MOSES. ja1 1,166
If Sturridge did that, I'm pretty sure he'd be booed every home game till he'd be eventually forced out. Torres will still get the biggest cheer when his name is read out..go figure. Las7, nachikethas and Tomo
ja1 1,166
OK, so now Torres can't be critized based on the players he has behind him, not his actual performance. He received the ball multiple times and did nout. Sturridge did more in 10 minutes with the same players.
chelseathebest 150
Can't believe some of you are still actually defending Torres, seems like he is more important than the club.I am just so frustrated that Danny can't get his chance although Torres has been shit practically since he's joined us (won't deny he had some good performances, but like, I don't kow, 70 % of them were awful)It's so frustrating seeing him trying to dribble 4 opponents EVERY SINGLE MATCH(which, by the way, always result with the lost ball). Who does he think he is? Jesus? No Fernando, you are not Jesus. You are one awful player and striker. You are not even a shadow of a player you used to be back then in Atletico and Loserpool. From now on, I want to see Sturridge as the first striker. Muzchap 8,966
Stop standing up for him Beirut it's really annoying because what he did was so clear. We have basically signed a squad full of playmakers to help this guy score and to play well but he seems to think it will come to him on a plate without him working hard. He keeps running into 3 defenders and loses the ball constantly, he then walks around the pitch not even bothering to close the space. The guy doesn't get involved in the game and that is hard to take for a club that has had Drogba for the last 8 years (probably only Tevez compares with Drogba when it comes to getting involved in the game as a striker) you must understand. No Chelsea striker has ever had as much support as Torres has when it comes to the bleeding management not signing a striker because they know he'll pooh his pants at any sign of competition. The supporters have given him support constantly since he arrived and the players around him are working like dogs to put it on a plate for him but what can you do when you have a striker that isn't moving off the ball and breaking his neck to get on the end of things ?Dude - we MAY have signed creative players but we sure as fuck aren't playing them!Yes Torres was a twat for storming off, but it could also be he is as frustrated as me at having a bench full of talent and he's gt Cech giving long balls, Ramires losing the ball every second and fuck all incisive play.Yes Studge looked good - but was pretty impossible to look worse, even Heskey would have looked good I still feel best thing for him and CFC is a swap for Falcao.... If he fails to use it it's bye bye, simple as that. Muzchap and Bacika
