BlueLyon 9,359
more like brains if they think Torres is a great CF.But they're too corrupted as well, that's why they are where they are. Everyone is corrupted - I'm not naive, but they take it to another level.Yeah, they are...financial wise whole italy is...but still they at least buy Ibrahimovic or Balotelli every now and then, but this summer they did worse than ever before.Nice that they think he is top striker, if they realy mean it they will buy him too The more you think, he is perfect profile for Milan, famous star, past it, old, small fee, big wages. Pizy 18,917
are there people actually thinking about exchanging Torres for Welbeck?that's like changing six for half a dozen - as we'd say in Portuguese. The only advantage would be the wages and the HG aspect, but we're not getting rid of Torres only because of wages. The main aspect here is technical and it's hard to get worse than Welbeck... I have a ManUtd fan as a brother and every time we watch his team (I do the sacrifice once in a blue moon) the only thing we can agree about is how terrible Danny Welbeck is. He might be even worse than Torres actually. No, thank you.I've definitely made fun of Welbeck at times in the past but at times he can look like the best player in the pitch for United. Consistency is what he needs to work on.I think he'd get plenty of games for us and there's not a chance he's worse than Torres. He's not the best finisher but that's what happens when you don't play often. Having a look over on RedCafe a few days ago when the news broke that they'll sell him and the majority of them are pretty angry that he may leave. They'd rather sell Hernandez.Anyways, it's a moot point as there's not a chance they'd sell him to us. Even though we sold them our best player I doubt they'd even consider it. Torres is definitely an important striker, let’s see if we’re able to get him or another player. Van Ginkel? It’s possible, we’ve written to Chelsea and we’re waiting for a response. We’re quite confident."
BlueLyon 9,359
You would really take a vacation to london over milan? You are comparing shitty north england to italia? He is not there on vacation, he lives there Sorry @term-x I think London is actualy very nice city on the eye, but cant beat Italy. Weather alone is good example. DANILA
Fulham Broadway 17,317
Hard to believe we've been paying him £10m a year?! Still can't help but love him for his couple of important European goals. Was surprised to see him do the ice bucket challenge and not miss though. Maybe he's finding his form, if he goes to Milan he'll miss and land in Rome. Bosnian Blue
DANILA 290
From an infrastructure POV, sure England is better than Italy. From a pure vacationing standpoint, italy >>> UK

Even though we sold them our best player I doubt they'd even consider it.our main stance though is we need a better second striker to avoid any Costa absence to jeopardize our titles ambitions. The answer to that can't be Welbeck imo. As you said, he's inconsistent (although just bad most time) and what if when we need him the most he's going through a Torres phase? No, thank you, at all.Chicharito isn't my cup of tea either, but he's much better than Welbeck imo. Either way, that's not what we need. We need a good - not excellent because no excellent striker such as Cavani and Falcao as a few wished will come here to fight their position with Costa - that will score a few goals, that will link up, that has some technical quality on him.Having Torres became a worse problem the moment we brought an aged Drogba. We need a quality second striker, we don't have one. If before Didier was here, Torres was already the right name to get rid of, let alone now that it's down to the two of them. An aged Didier is much better than Torres. We shouldn't have gotten rid of Eto'o and I blame Mourinho's big mouth for that. If Samuel is willing to go to Everton, I'm positive he'd be willing to stay here if Mourinho hadn't talked more than he should as I don't honestly believe Mourinho rates Torres higher than Eto'o. DavidEU 2,023
If this does happen, and its only a loan, what happens if he's crap? He'll come back in 12 months time and we'll be stuck with him for the remaining year of his contract and pay him £175k a week.Sell him, fuck a transfer fee. Just give him away. That said, for his few great moments in a blue shirt, i'll be eternally grateful.

That said, for his few great moments in a blue shirt, i'll be eternally grateful. let's not get ahead of ourselves. Getting rid of him now means bringing another striker - which is what we need, whether he stays or not.He doesn't want a loan contract (because he knows he'd have to do well to find a contract following it, especially in his last contracted year with us) so chances are it won't happen. But I wouldn't mind at all.It sucks to pay all the money we've paid to him and the idea of continuing to pay his wages if he goes on loan or is sold is bad, but we're okay in the FFP, bad deals are part of football, we've made considerable money in the last few windows with our sales. Paying his wages is like taking one for the team. We need Roman and the board to agree to this one last bit of bad business and actually improve our squad in the only area I think it needs improvement.I'm even willing to agree to a Marco loan in the process if that's what it takes for AC Milan to take him. We need to get rid of him, no matter how nor how much it would still cost us.

That said, for his few great moments in a blue shirt, i'll be eternally grateful. Yesterday's rumours said it would be a loan with an obligation to buy next year, which would make a lot of sense for Chelsea. That way we'd still have the £9m amortisation of his £50m transfer fee on the books this year and due to the Luiz & Lukaku money the club can easily afford it but then next year we'd get a transfer fee from Milan to cover at least part of Torres' remaining book value. Basically it'd done just because of FFP but other than that it wouldn't really make a difference compared to selling him outright now.And if it's just a one year loan with him returning next year, it wouldn't be all that bad either because by then he'd only have a year left on his contract and the club probably wouldn't even have to compensate for his wages if he were to get a 2-3 year contract from some other club. A two-year contract at £80k a week is pretty much the same as one year at £170k a week so he'd get pretty much the same regardless. Also, just getting him off the team would be worth pretty much anything... Dy-lan 142
I honestly wouldn't mind loaning him and just having Costa, Drogba and Scurrle for the CF spot. Yes I know Schurrle hasn't played great for us as a #9 but honestly he's no worse than Torres there. Getting Torres's wages (partially anyway) off of our books for a year would be great..plus there's the ever so SLIGHT chance he knocks in a few goals in the Serie A and we can move him permanently next year (I know unlikely ).
