Bir_CFC 3,455
Well, I dont mean to sound too negative and whatnot, but to call Torres' performance amazing is to take it just too far. I kinda understand that some people jizz in their pants after a performance like this by Torres, but to be quite honest, this is how he should be every game. And nothing he did today was spectacular or amazing, its just that we've accepted he's shit and when he is anything but shit, we call it amazing.Again, not taking anything away from Torres but what we saw today is a standard top-striker performance. Nothing more. We've seen him play shit for 25 games, then perform very well in one, and then get back on the shit-streak.But I sure hope he continue to perform like this.Don't agree with this. This was a very good performance for any striker, not just relative to Torres' old self. He gets enough shit, deserved too, but don't know why people can't just praise the dude when he does play good.MOTM easily. A very good performance is what the likes of Cavani, Messi, Ronaldo, Zlatan etc usually perform. This was, like I said, a standard top-striker performance. We're just not used to see it from Torres whats why we go like "WOW OMG".He gets enough shit, because 95% of the time he IS shit. Its not undeserved criticism he gets. didi007
Jase 43,479
That was arguably his best performance for us since he came. Full of energy, running and took the piss out of the Spurs defence. Helped to give the attack impetus and momentum that we have hardly ever seen from him before. However, just like after the Swindon game, not getting carried away with this one bit. He needs to be doing this week in week out regardless of the opposition and not only choose to turn up whenever he wants to. Did I say it wasnt a good performance? It however was NOT an amazing performance like so many are claiming.

I said his performance was good for ANY striker, not just compared to his past performances. If you don't think so, fair enough that's your opinion. I just simply said I disagreed with it. Merih 10
If the suspension is upheld then the options will be Ba/Eto'o for Norwich... must mean Eto'o start and Nando on the bench for CL?Brilliant performance today. José has certainly lit a spark under him so far this season. What made his performance today was powerful, direct runs at opposition... which is suited to a more open/counter type of match. He still needs to work on his game to be this effective versus teams that sit deep.

I really think he was exceptional today. He should have scored one but he was exceptional, literally. Created 2-3 brilliant chances and one for himself. Shame he got sent off but he was excellent today. i still had him as my MOTM and this is coming from someone who is not Torres biggest fan but that is the sort of performance I was waiting to see. He ran their defence rigged.Yes he needs to be more consistent but no denying today he was excellent, yes excellent. Barbara
Kieran. 6,317
Love the aggression he's showing. I can't remember the last time I've seen him stand up for himself like that; remember Ferdinand last year? He's doing well. I just simply said I disagreed with it.And once again, i didnt say it wasnt good. Im just not hopping on the bandwagon screaming it was an amazing/fantastic/awesome performance. Why? Because I expect him to play like this every match, at least show the heart and passion he did today. Also because he is being paid a fuckload of money. didierforever 7,349
what performance. how did that happen... and how the fuck was that a 2nd yellow. unacceptable. i mean how was it even a foul from torres. did he hoold dawson's shirt. NO. did he elbow. NO. it was a 50-50 ball and no way was it a red for torres.

ephreak 42
Really good choice from Mourinho to let Torres start today, he is on fire and he should play. Very wise.Unfair second yellow, is it one game ban? Barbara
Milan 17,958
If it wasn't for his behaviour on the pitch and the scratching, he would have never been sent off and we could have won it. Shame. Anyway, it was a great display from him so hopefully he will keep this form.
