I think we will get a better bearing of Torres within the next month when didier goes off to the cup of nations. It would be interesting to sturridge and torres play together uptop. I dont know how much sturridge is benefitting from playing from the wing. He has a goal first mentality which does not suit the wing. He needs to play as a striker but I dont know how that would work with nando

Every individual makes a team and a team makes a club, u don't get a set of player in the market to make a team. So if an individual is performing or not he would always be talked/cared/loved/hated about, I hope people understands that logic.

Secondly and more importantly the man in discussion here is a player for whom we have broken all the transfer records at least in the premier league to render his services. And in all honesty we are not using that asset in the right way, so as a CHELSEA FAN it hurt not only for the club and team but also for the player. So just because someone is thinking about an individual within the team doesnt makes him less of a fan than anyone else. If that was the case why have discussion boards for individual player within the forum, does that mean we are not fans of the Blues.

Forgive me, but when you say "I really hope that Torres puts in his transfer request and goes to play for some other club where he is valued more", you are obviously putting Torres's best interest ahead of the clubs, making you a Torres fan before a Chelsea fan.

Definitively, there was at least 4 chances tonight that Torres from 3 years ago would have at the very least beaten the defender and had a shot on goal. Our management should take full responsibility they should have done a speed test or something.

Anyhow Torres was alright tonight if nothing else he had a role in the second goal but if he doesn't start scoring goals he is a goner in the summer.

The thing is that it's very difficult to reinvent himself his speed is gone and he needs to play in a different way than what he was used to in Liverpool. Let's see if he is able to adapt in the following months but even though tonight was promising as far as effort and passing was concerned we won't keep him around if he doesn't start scoring - anything less then 10 goals in the second part of the season and there is no reason to keep him.

But no doubt I would not call this a great performance, in fact I don't think anyone can really keep their head high tonight regarding our performance - possibly Lampard because of the amount of negative things being said about him but most players were pretty underwhelming against Wolves and we nearly lost points.

He did a good job today ... as a 10. Seriously, for the moment Torres is doing great giving smart passes and working hard. But he's not doing a superb job at creating chances or actually finishing them. So I'd opt for Drogba (Lukaku during ACN) with Torres in his back.

He might get some confidence en playing time at that position, which might make him a superb CF again.
