Term-X 7,892
The way in which clubs are seeded for future draws in the competition could be altered in order to favour domestic title holdersThe Spanish outlet claims that the favoured proposal would see the competition’s holders and the domestic champions of the seven highest-ranked leagues being seeded. Should the Champions League be won by a team which also wins their national championship, the winner of the eighth-highest ranked country would join pot one.Sounds like Man-City's owners have been slipping brown envelopes to UEFA officials. Fernando 6,723
Sounds like Man-City's owners have been slipping brown envelopes to UEFA officials.Or people getting bored of easily predicting the two to get out. We want more groups of death. It's what makes the group stage fun.Anyhow if there's one thing to change I hope it's the away goal rules. That is one of the causes of producing the most boring Fútbol because the fear of conceding one goal and counting as twice the value...

CHOULO19 24,332
Actually quite a lot of journos and people in football (and fans) have been complaining about the seeding. While I do agree that it's not exactly broken, but the current rules do seem a bit random and frankly not in the best interest of the competition. The suggested change would make it more likely for tougher knock-out matches.
Atlas Lion 1,223
I find it laughable how a team that manages to get 4th place in the league year after year whilst having to qualify via playoff still manages a top seed spot. Jase 43,479
Sporting Lisbon drew 1-1 with Porto in their league game tonight. They dominated the first half before Porto took controlled of the second. That draw is Sporting's fifth 1-1 draw in seven matches in all competitions this season. Still unbeaten though as the other two games ended in 1-0 and 4-0 wins.

Fernando 6,723
It won't affect us since more then likely we will win the PL. I'm interested in seeing how they will add the winner of the Europa League into the CL.

Fernando 6,723
we can win the title this year, but not every year from now...and even this year, the way to the title is long...Oh well whoever wins it they get top seed. To me it makes more sense and makes the group stage more interesting. I rather have 2 or 3 groups of death then having a bunch of group where you probably know who will come out. Not to say there will be surprise but on average that's how it's gotten. With having the Champions on pot 1 it will bring more attraction to the group stage. So from me this is a brilliant idea from UEFA.
