DH1988 1,348
Much needed decision, there were signs things were going sour and he was given enough time to fix them in my opinion, way back at the super cup, then Shaktar, then united, Shaktar again etc

Ibra11 11
i did not read any of the rest of this thread but i dont need to. i dont follow others i am a leader. i make my own decisions with my superior critical thinking skills and i can tell you guys this, this is a great move. let me make one thing cleared, i NEVER liked di matteo and i believe he was extremely lucky to win the champs league with us, and that drogba literally dragged us across the finish line. we never played good football with di matteo. the club made a choice a while back when they signed AVB, they wanted big names and big game football, attractive dominating football. di matteo was interim manager to keep the seat warm until pep or someone similar arrives, winning the champs league didnt secure di matteo more time as manager of chelsea, guardiolas unavailability did. i personally think benitez is a decent manager, surely better than rdm. and i honestly think we will turn the season around just like last year. thats my take. btw nobody believed me when i said ibrahimovic is pure F*king class. 4 goals against england seems to have changed some minds.... TorontoChelsea 4,064
This is a move that made absolutely no sense. If Roman really wanted Guardiola or someone and he had become available, I still wouldn't have agreed, but it would have made sense. But firing a manager who was doing OK really to bring in another temporary manager is ridiculous. It's obvious that Roman never liked Di Mattero and was looking for any excuse to see him gone. We're in third place in the league and still alive in every other competition. Even had RDM not won the CL and the FA Cup a few months ago, he didn't deserve to be fired. One of the most undeserved sackings I can ever remember. We'll do better with Benitez for the first couple of months because the schedule is really easy.

Spike 12,049
I'm confident about Rafa's tactical nouse but his transfers and media mind games leave a lot to be desired. Besides Torres, Mascherano and Alonso did he make any great signings at Pool?

I don't like Benitez but I will back him while he is our manager, which I know won't be long.I didn't realize so many hated the guy but he'll be gone in a few onths. DH1988 1,348
Something of note is that in the later years Rafa wanted X player but the Liverpool board identified Y as the cheaper option to his X so they ended up with people like aquilani for example
Pizy 18,952
Maybe Torres will come out of his pussy-shell now that he's got his mate back and spike his pretty, flowing lockes and go berserk. Our very own Super Saiyan.

I still think his pros outweigh his cons rather heavily, and that he is a great manager if given time and patience, I am not sure if there is a point having him around as an interim manager though as he doesn't strike me as a manager that makes that much of an immediate impact. unclezillion 23
What a ridiculous thing to say... Good riddance to you. The way i see it is that ///i cannot with a clear conscience continue support something that continually does things /i don't like. I have voted with my feet and informed the club to cancel all the shit i have with them. The rest of you sheep who continue to follow something that keeps pissing you off are welcome to it! DDA 9,941
Today has been one of the worse days I have experienced as a Chelsea fan. Apart from my Samsung Galaxy S3 arriving, I have felt genuinely upset and sorry for Robbie and all I can say is that this Chelsea Legend deserves credit beyond what words are possible to describe. The manner in which he has carried himself as the Chelsea interim come boss has been admirable and will never be forgotten as the one who delivered us our first Champions League trophy. Trying to hold back my anger in disbelief of the events that have followed out 3-0 thrashing from the Italian giants, I have dug deep and attempted to find what little positives that can be found in the appointment of Rafa the fat Spanish wanker Apart from the obvious being that he is only appointed until the end of the season which after we all expect Pep to take the helm, let's not forget that Rafa has achieved a lot in his career and after all is said and done you can't deny what he delivered at Liverpool even if he is an annoying mug.As for Roman.. jeez.. sort it out my Russian friend. We simply can't carry on sacking every manager that goes on a bad run, it's past becoming a farce and now just making a mockery of the managers, players, staff, club and us the fans who stand up for every decision made by the crazy Russian King. I can never be too mad at Roman though for all that he has given us even if he has just sacked the nicest and most honourable manager Chelsea has had in a long, long time for nothing at all.
