Rafael Benitez managed the squad and the players look like they're together. That stems from the manager and he's galvanised that squad. There's a will about the team. He deserves credit and it's a shame that some people want to tear that page out of the history books because of something he said a long time ago.

yes... i am a fan... i will hope for the best no matter what. i hoped for the best when we were 2-0 down at camp nou with 10 men... and i will continue to do so... because that is what a true fan does inspite of what his team can or cant do...

do we blame FSW when he loses a game? did any1 blame him when we lost to man city in the semis of fa cup... NNOOOO... did people blame him when we drew 2-2 against tottenham... YYYEEESSS and deservedly because he failed to make the correct subs at the correct time. so the result is independent of the criticism to a manager. things can go wrong even if he has done everything right but he barely got everything right. but that does not meanTHAT I SHOULD HOPE he screws up or we lose...

even yesterday... rambo had a horrendous game... should have come off (inspite the fact it being rambo that won the corner that led to the win), i can still safely say rambo should have come off for moses. he dint. and luckily for us it all worked out just fine. but that dint mean i was hoping for us to lose so i can read or write comments on a forum...

He's done what he had to do. It hasn't been easy. And imo, we still would have got top 4 with RDM, so he hasn't done a better job than him. That being said, we have won a european trophy, got top 4 sewn up, lampard has got a new deal.

I will never love rafa, but i don't hate him. I hate some of the things he has done this season, and his substitutions will always baffle me. Even yesterday we made no changes. But Hey ho, we got there in the end and it won't come back to bite us in the ass.

I appreciate the effort. And we can now both depart, and go our seperate ways, us with top 4 and a trophy, and rafa with a bolstered cv, that will say something along the lines of "battling through the hatred to get top 4 and win a trophy". Both Parties content with how it ended, considering how things were looking a few months back.

Lets end this chapter and start a new one, with the special one.
