TheCount 146
Match fixing and league corruption IS a part of the english leagues and has been for a very very very long time. Its not by some Machiavellian sinister way that it starts either, where it comes from it quite innocent, you have to remember that when teams like liverpool, utd, arsenal become bigger and bigger and dominate their respected era's in english football, they gain fans and respect from fans of football, now where might these fans be drawn because of their love of football? Into it as player? possible. Into it as a long term fan? very likely, but where else? the very gears and cogs of football itself, the administration end. Now as these people rise in their respected careers, could be a ref, could be in the administration job themselves, so do their personal bias's and favorite teams, we would all like to think that they can overcome these bias's by the time they get their but its clear by the sinister decisions over the years time and time again in favor of certain powerful clubs, they cannot. The problem here is Man Utd dominated the PL for the first 10 years more or less and in that time were able to secure people on the boards of football who were either fans who worked their way up and admirer's to their success. No one plans it, but it naturally happens from men not capable of doing the job they are given with competence and impartialness and thus is how football corruption works. Liverpool were once as influential as UTD and had many many many decisions their way for a long time, what do you think Ferguson meant when he said his proudest moment was knocking liverpool of their perch?Football corruption, bias and match fixing are an unfortunate outcome of a system that can be ruined by someones personal preference. BleedsBlue 1,549
Really unlucky that we lost. The better team did not win but we must move on and continue to stay on top of the league.Proud of the players commitment and desire to level an early 2 goal advantage. The future looks bright indeed. Because it proves there was bias in his refereeingAre you actually serious or is that meant to be some kind of joke? Bir_CFC 3,455
Gary Neville is a closet Chelsea fan. Dude celebrated our Champions league goals more than he celebrated the birth of his child.Hated him with a passion when he played for United but I really like him now. Great pundit.
