The Chels 2,502 Posted April 19, 2014 Share Posted April 19, 2014 When he went to ground for the Altidore incident I'm not sure if he was trying to block the cross and unluckily made contact or if he was actually trying to tackle. If it was the latter then I'm disappointed; as much as it was obvious that he was trying to rectify his mistake, you absolutely cannot go lunging in from such an angle in the box. It was never a penalty but defenders should know not to give the referee any opportunity to give a penalty. There was a point in the game he chased down the ball right back to Tibo, and that wasn't an isolated incident either, he did it all night from the word go.Hence for me, the player of the season by a long, long way. He is a mini JT in my eyes... That's why he should get player of the season over Hazard. Yes Hazard is brilliant - but I don't see in him, what I see in Azpi (sadly) - maybe it will come though...
