The only place to be 11,313
It's wonderfully apt that this thread is becoming so RAWKish, concerned with living in the past rather than enjoying the present and looking forward to the future. bababoom

Don't think anyone is not enjoying the present and unable to look forward to the future. It's just that we are all frustrated at our striker situation. We let go a ST who can score the goals but kept the ones that couldn't. Like it or not, people are always gonna mention about Sturridge when he score the goals while our current strikeforce still doesn't. And it's probably safe to say that won't be the case for much longer if and/or when we get a top quality ST that bang in the goals and perform for us consistently week in week out. didierforever
Popular Post! The Skipper 20,609 Posted August 24, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted August 24, 2013 If we kept Sturridge I don't think we would've been after Rooney right now. Fits the profile of the type of striker Jose's trying to bring in tbh. Wish we gave him a new contract instead of signing Ba. He'll have a good season, think he'll score around 20 PL goals. didierforever, Peace., Stats and 2 others
Laylabelle 9,535
if we kept him he'd no doubt be still frustating the hell out of everyone.Took a risk selling him as looked as if could go either way and went the shite way.7 in 8 games something like that...blehh whats done is done... Some random kids at these forums who know nothing about anything but bullshit twitter? Get real. The ONLY reason Sturridge never flourished in Chelsea and that we sold him is due to that blonde cunt. If he wasnt with us, Danny would have played ALOT more as CF and show people how it feels to have a CF who can actually play. didierforever
didierforever 7,349
"he would be frustrating the hell out of every1" - HOW??? by asking to be played and given a true chance as a striker instead of FLOPPES rather than starting 2 games in half a season. communicate 2,703
Lol this thread will never end. Sturridge is not a good striker for us because we need our striker to hold the ball and to create space for our midfielder.

No doubt about that.but he is not the striker that we need. It's like comparing mario gomez to mario mandzukic. Mandzukic will never score as many goals as gomez but he makes bayern much better because his link up play and tactically he is far superior.Mou want rooney because he want a striker who can drop deep to link up with our midfielder and that is not sturridge
Gilvorak 3,734
Our pathetic fans were booing him in his final year here. And it wasnt a one off either. What an absolute cock up by Emenalo and his cronies, he's miles better than any other striker we have here. His style is reminiscent of a younger Van Persie. When he picked up the ball his first instinct is to take on player and his off the ball movement is more about moving into channel. For us, we need players like RVP, Lewandowski, or Rooney who will drop deep and link up with our midfield.

Not so much that the many times he had chances to pass and yet would take a chance himself when it was pointless and clear it wasnt going where he wanted. That may have been due to wanting to prove he did have the skill etc and show why he should be playing. If he had cost us 50m he'd still be here..just didnt work out and really they got the better end of the deal.Cant see him turning crap anytime soon...cant see Torres turning good anytime soon communicate
