robsblubot 3,595
Inevitably had a good game against us, but my opinion about him has not changed one bit. He is far from a world class player and won't ever be. But he is certainly better than Torres and was treated very unfairly by the club. The lack of minutes he got this season were disgraceful. We made a mistake in selling him and keeping Torres. Bottom line is, had we sold our other striker like we should, we would have picked up 3 points yesterday. Agreed, but that was not an option... we got no offer for Torres, and will no get one anytime soon, considering his wages and form.We did get an offer for Sturridge, who was not going to sign a new deal, unless promised a more important role, rotation/first team? I don't have the insider info though. Perhaps other reasons drove us to sell him, that tackle on Bertrand was weird... Danny deserved that starting spot.
GeeMon 34
I was always a fan of Sturridge and seeing him leave frustrated me to no end. When he played for us this season, his link up play was good, he was dangerous with his pace and showed enthusiasm. Much more than Torres has for us.He has always been respectful towards us (and City), and the stick he got/still gets is unfair on him.Other than Rooney, I'd place him as Englands best striker. BlueLion. 21,491
Lukaku > Sturridge.Danny had a point to prove against us, and by scoring, he made it. Fair play to him for not celebrating as well, especially considering how frustrating his time with us was. He has a chance to grow as a player at Liverpool, and good luck to him. Maybe in the future yes, but Sturridge is still ahead of Lukaku atm which really isn't surprising considering he's 4 years older.
The Skipper 20,609
Daniel Sturridge has now scored as many goals as Fernando Torres in the PL.

Pizy 18,907
2 goals and an assist today. Albeit against a woeful Newcastle, he's still been impressive.
Stats 7,142
Watching him. Excellent player, what were we thinking, I will never know. Movement, trickery, pace, goals. I don't think there is much difference between him and Ba. Different players tbh, but watching today's game I just know I am going to be regretting selling him to Liverpool. Don't blame him though, good move for his own career. If Torres wasn't here Danny could've been a very important player for us by now. The only place to be 11,313
Nice litmus test today. Two players scored. One was someone we let go and represents our past. The other is a guy on loan from us who represents our future (hopefully). Some fans bitch and moan about us letting one go. Others celebrate the great job the other is doing and look to his return. :tophat:

There is an ex-blue thread for a reason. If you don't like him, that is you, don't understand why personally why but he deserves recognition when he does well, especially as he was not given a chance to prove himself here. Jype 6,398
Once we get Lukaku back and have him banging in goals left and right, people won't even remember we once had this guy what was his name again, Danny something?

I don't think we'll simply forget about Sturridge. Personally I would've loved to see us going into next season with Sturridge, Lukaku and Ba, would've been a nice, versatile, young strike force.Sturridge is making a name for himself, and with this Suarez ban he'll definitely solidify himself as one of the premier strikers in the league in my opinion. He's a good striker with a bright future ahead of him. Blue Armour, Stats, Las7 and 1 other

Ask man U. If it wasn't for Webb CFC would have beaten them @ da Bridge. The Skipper
