Liuxas 125
In what world we living? Silly MU paying 34 mln for a teenager and offering 100k wage its just so stupid. And then people start asking why english players so overrated.
Muzchap 8,966
Luke fucking Shaw for more than Hazard, Oscar, Fabregas, Diego Costa...Unbelievable. Unreal. Desperate from United.Hmm who's trying to buy success now - lol
Daniel1980 1,425
Luke fucking Shaw for more than Hazard, Oscar, Fabregas, Diego Costa...Unbelievable. Unreal. Desperate from United.Yeah, ridiculous. He's good, but compared to all these guys, such a price for a teenager is beyond silly and will put a lot of pressure on him.
Pizy 18,959
I'm going to laugh next season when Luis comfortably outperforms him and cost half the price.Good, young player but in no way is he worth that kind of money.

Term-X 7,891
He'll be on 75k pw according to Jake CohenIf Manchester United signs Luke Shaw for £34m + a 5-year deal at £75k pw, he'll cost £10.7m py on FFP books. Drop in the bucket for #mufcDrop in the bucket indeed. Transfer fee was never the issue, it was always the wages that were 'supposed' to be the problem.Great deal for United, we're cowards, let's put this into perspective..Jon Obi Mikel - 75,000Luke Shaw - 75,

Come on.We could get Ricardo Rodriguez for just over half of that who's MUCH better than Shaw is currently.Lifes too short for German football, so I can't dissect Rodriguez for you (a player we've never been linked with). I'd much rather we signed the second best natural left back in the country, and maintain the english core. When the rumours first started the wages were aggrandised, my bets on 75k, fair play to United if so. And then people start asking why english players so overrated. This is why England NT suffer. The top teams in the league can't afford top english players in their team because of the over rating and inflated prices of the players.

OneMoSalah 8,886
40M ? Nearly as good a deal as we got from PSG for Luiz.Sure Shaw is a good young player but 40M is laughable. Moreno/Rodriguez are both better and would cost 15-20m max.Who are the idiots doing the transfer side of stuff at United since Fergie left?- Nani and Valencia got new contracts on big wages- Rooney got a massive contract worth 300k p/w- Fellaini for 27M- Mata for 37M (I'd have paid that tbh)- now Shaw for 40M

boshman 1,073
I really wanted to see this guy as our LB for the next 15 years or so but i anything over 20 million for an 18yo with barely any experience is silly. 40 million though is ridiculous. United have MUG written on their forehead!!
BlueLion. 21,491
Looked so far out of his depth last night. Yes, the potential is there, but my lord his positional discipline is atrocious at times. He has a lot to learn. He might be a talented player but is he worth £40 million? Maybe if he stays at United for ten years, it'll have been a good investment. But it seems like another panic buy by them. I like Luke and think he'll be brilliant. I think he is at least as good as Bertrand is, but we're far better off going for someone with experience, like Luis.
The only place to be 11,313
United have handled this appallingly. They dragged it out, let their fans get excited about signing him (because they can't really sign any other marquee name), watched teams like us get our business done quickly and quietly and that allowed Southampton to ratchet up the price at the last minute. If those figures are correct then they're well and truly fleeced. The pressure on him would be incredible.
