Can't fault Hazard for leaving as he as done and won everything he could for us, lets see if he can end his stay here on a high this season with another european trophy. I don't think we should blame the board or the coach this time. Hazard has always claimed that Real Madrid were a dream of his. Also, he said many times how inspirational Zidane was to him. I remember when we purchased him many people - even some Chelsea fans - expected him to play 2-3 seasons for us then switch to Madrid. He stayed here for 7 years, even at bad times, so I am thankful to him., but as long as it's not official I still hope he'd stay. They basically used rumors from other sources like it's their own. Evening Standard reported pretty much the same thing last week.
Pizy 18,897
United have gone through it in recent years with Ronaldo, Liverpool went through it with Suarez and then Coutinho, Spuds with Bale and Modric, Arsenal with RvP. Now it's our turn to sell our best player in their prime. All those clubs have managed to move on well for the most part. Liverpool, through excellent management and great signings, are now far better than they were before. Spuds likewise. City are the only club in the PL now who are probably immune to having any of their players poached because they have the best coach and unlimited money to offer in wages. Our problems are that we may be fucked by a transfer ban and even if we aren't, our club are shit at recruitment these days. Even Sarri has come out over the last week and said he wants to keep Kova who has been average, Higuain who has been disappointing, and doesn't feel like we need another midfielder to compete with Jorginho. So we'll basically have the same squad as this season minus our best player. Doesn't sound so great, does it? Yeah but current state of this club, we will do the post RVP Arsenal rather than post Suarez Pool. Everything is pointing in that direction. I know we will move on from Hazard, eventualy it will be done, but honestly I think right now we dont have any sort of quality to build a post Hazard team. There is bigger chance we will be midtable team for couple years than top3 team, nevermind winning the title. We are increasingly showing less and less ambition, throwing less money, having lesser quality squad every year and our board doesnt have skill or capacity to build a young fresh team. People say we will replace Costa, but we never did. Hazard money will be invested in Pulisic and some sort of deal for Kovacic as soon we can buy again. Thats not going to get us anywhere near top and will never replace what Hazard offered to this team. It will have same effect like replacing Costa with Morata. Id have no problem selling Hazard if we went after the likes of Jovic, Pepe,...but the club will settle for way more inferior players, I dont buy that crap we will be better team after Hazard leaves. milka 3,393
Eden Hazard would become Real Madrid's most expensive signing - but would still be cheaper than Philippe Coutinho (Sky Sports ) Fernando

Fernando 6,585
We can keep him for another season if Real don't want to give us big money. Then we sell him in January. Who knows by then Real might not want him anymore. Risk losing him like Sanchez. Worth a try. Fulham Broadway

Let Hazard run down the contract and see if Real will still be interested this time next year and want to buy a 29-year-old. Similar view popped up on BBC... Tautvix 1,321
Unfortunately, it's now quite clear that Hazard is off to Madrid. Was a real pleasure to have him here at Chelsea and EPL. Not sure if we will ever have a player of his quality ever again at Chelsea. Supermonkey92, communicate and Johnnyeye

I put this in his top 3 for sure and it has a valid argument for top 1. Just in terms of level of performance.
