Stop the madness mate. Chelsea is not a club that buy players thinking about selling then later. 27 years old is not even close of being "too old'. Actually I believe the problem with this team, is paying too much for players like Hazard and Oscar,  unfinished products.

It is though to pay big money. What would the fee be on Bale?

Hazard can certainly do more to fulfill his potential but don't think I would classify him as lazy. If he was as lazy as you said, we wouldn't have seen the many of the great performances he put in over the last 2 seasons or so. I seriously don't get why you're using 'wages' to judge the level of expectations (didn't you say it's about fighting for the club and the badge?). When you're playing for Chelsea, you expect the same things from everyone. It's not all about the wages!

It is rubbish that Hazard hasn't scored like in nearly 30 games () but comparing an attacking midfielder with two strikers - players who are meant to be scoring goals - seems a tad harsh. Stats do say he's rubbish but in reality, he hasn't reached the Torres-level of point-of-no-return.

You have your opinion and others have there's... Like I said many people believe he is lazy (Coach Wilmots) and doesn't work hard enough to reach his potential. Wages are important, you give the biggest wages to those who work the hardest and possess the best skill. You don't reward those who are lazy and not working to their full potential; with the wage demand comes a greater responsibility. Of course as a professional there is a level of commitment that must be met but as a talisman and the highest wage earner the weight is greater, even if only in public opinion. I want everyone to work hard but I don't want my best player and highest earner to be one of the worst in terms of commitment. Maybe that's me but if I pay someone 1M to do a job and I pay someone $5.00 to do the same job, I expect the guy I pay 1M to, to work his ass off.

Definitely not the Torres levels but it is extremely alarming, especially right after winning player of the year.

Sell hazard as soon as possible. His peak performance is over. He's no longer want to play for us. His agent has a big influence on his decision to determine his football career, IMO. Any big agent fee offered should tempt Hazard to leave Chelsea.

Move on. Find a new key player. I believe in Emenalo

If Hazard wants to join Real Madrid only because of Zidane, then he better think twice because knowing Perez, he could easily sack Zidane at any time - even when he's lost only 3 times in 25+ games! If that happens, then what?

On another note, given that we're unlikely to play in the Champions League next season, not sure if we're in a position to discuss any swap deal with Madrid (unless we're talking about getting an average player in return). Might fetch a good fee in return though if we just sell him since he signed that new contract not too long ago. Re-investing the money in new players might be difficult as which top player would want to join a club without Champions League football?

If Hazard really wants to go, and the evidence seems to suggest that, then we should definitely cash in.

Then we may need to sit on the cash for a season. Don't know if that would work with FFP or whether we'd care about it, but sit on the cash and wait for the right player at the right time to make the investment. The worst time to buy is when everyone and their mamas know you, the buyer, have money to spend.

Not sure if we have the luxury of sitting on the cash for a season considering the current squad is in need of a major surgery.

well we can only hope we'd have funds, to add and replace a few players, without having to touch Hazard's sale money - assuming he does get sold. Otherwise we cannot possible replace him anyway. Seen this over and over again: sell a top player and get a few meh to replace him.

BTW, they all want to go to Madrid. It has something to do with it being owned by a large bank. :)

That is why I don't think we should sell Hazard this summer, not after one bad season. He's too good to just suddenly tail off so badly in 6 months. There must be a good reason or two as to why has that happened (same applies for the rest of the team) rather than he doesn't want to play for us anymore. And if we're talking about selling players, there are others who need to be sold first.

oh absolutely, but the premise is that he wants to go. In which case, there is little the club can do. Worse possible outcome is that you force a stay, but fail to convince and motivate the player, so you end up losing both, the money and the player.

These are the times the staff have to earn their pay.

Reports say Real are going to bid £100m for hazard

It would be a dick move from Hazard to leave the sinking ship as he is responsible too. 100 million pounds is a of money though.. If we used that money wisely it could be a great deal.

we should not sell hazard even for 100million period!!..he is priceless...how can anyone entertain an idea of selling a potential ballon d'or  player?.if he has one more excellent season he will be easily worth 150 million...even that price is not enough for offsetting the trophies he will win for us!!
