Now people (i.e. the diehard Hulk supporters) are going to think the link is a lie and this thread will go another 10 pages before someone can find a link not from crunchsport.

For those people, I repeat:

The President of Porto, Pinto da Costa, said in an interview with Porto TV, that he will not sell Hulk unless we pay the release clause. He's not an 85 million pound player, pretty much no one except Messi and Ronaldo are.

Here we go. The ol 'gentleman's agreement' comes in play -_-

It is probably so Hulk has to force the move. The porto president will know fans will be unhappy so if Hulk engineers the move himself the club saves face.

Hulk said in that interview that it was entirely the clubs decision and he is happy at Porto because he has 4 years to run on his contract.

Mikel and Ramires would make the worst double pivot. Ramires is far to attack minded and Mikel isn't dynamic enough. Personally I would love to see Lampard and Moutinho in the pivot.

Yeah Mikel really struggled against xavi, iniesta and messi didn't he?!

His positional awareness has become very good over the last year or two and he's underrated by lots of chelsea fans because he doesn't do special things everytime with ball. He doesn't have to when he has lamps alongside him, mata in front and luiz behind. He's not the quickest but neither are scholes and carrick, or busquets, or alonso - he shouldn't be isolated in the team so that his pace becomes a serious issue.

I can remember SWP saying he was happy at man city. Later that day he handed in a transfer request.

The other way round with the likes of rooney and gerrard.

Good point; but da Costa means business, I think. He's said something along those lines every transfer window since January 2010.

Oh, wow. You really took what I said out of context. You seem to think I don't rate Mikel, all I said is that he wasn't dynamic, not that he wasn't a good player. Makelélé was on the best Defensive Midfielders in the world and he wasn't exactly dynamic. Try and not put words in my mouth, it makes both of us look bad. I want a Lampard - Moutinho pivot because shit, Mikel isn't needed against a lot of teams, not mentioning the fact that Lampard and Moutinho are more than effective when defending. Against teams like Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Mikel is a good option but against the likes of Wigan, Fulham, QPR etc a more offensive pairing would be more effective. Besides, we are taking a massive liberty thinking that the 4-2-3-1 formation next season.

Fucking hell, give someone an inch and they take a mile.
