when it comes to transfers , i wish we could be just like barca ..... it is as simple as barca has signed villa or afellay , but with chelsea you get a month and a half of negotiations where no one knows if that is gonna end with the transfer or not .

When it comes to hiring, is a way of torture

The worst is negotiating for weeks and I do not see that come out with good deals, we always pay a lot of money or end up with empty hands and denying any offer.

Frankly, the business department should be fired. The only time the players wanted and forcing their outputs to arrive at Chelsea was with Mou, but it was because the kind of coach he is, not because the negotiators were the turning point

Probably the Benfica President trying to make a statement along the lines of "sign him now, or we'll keep playing him"

Or a chance for him and the fans to say goodbye.

Both of those seem reasonable I suppose. Although I really hope the second point you suggested is the one that's true

Half of our transfers do seem to do this whole..nearly signing him then the other club changing their minds and throwin a hissy fit and wacking on some extra dosh and spouting some crap and ending up not being solved in time.Hopfully this one can be done..not a lot of time mind :S

Benfica and Chelsea are continuing to negotiate David LuizBy Gonçalo Guimarães

Not closed or aborted. Benfica and Chelsea are still negotiating to try to overcome the impasse in what is the possible transfer of David Luiz. According to our newspaper was able to ascertain, the Eagles refused the first formal proposal submitted by the blues, and the ball is now in the English club.

Toward the close of the market, the parties try to play all the available assets and betting on the usual forms of pressure. Calling David Luiz for the game with Rio Ave (must hold) and the threat of Benfica to leave the negotiating table fit into this context.
