Mais se esclarece que, estando neste momento a decorrer um processo negocial entre as partes, o mercado será informado assim que ocorra um desfecho do mesmo.

PRESS RELEASE

The Sport Lisboa e Benfica - Futebol, SAD, in compliance with Article 248 of the Securities Code, states that received a proposal from the Chelsea Football Club for the acquisition of sports rights and economic athlete David Luiz Moreira Marinho.

More explains that It is now an ongoing negotiation process between the parties, the market will be informed as soon as there is an outcome of it.

Benfica have issued a statement to the Portuguese stock exchange saying they have called off talks with Chelsea over David Luiz.

The two clubs have been locked in negotiations for the past week, and they had looked very close to striking a deal.

It is understood the main stumbling block has been how any transfer would be paid for, and now Benfica have seemingly decided to end the talks.

Benfica issued the following statement: "Negotiations between Benfica and Chelsea FC, with a view to the possible transfer of David Luiz, were concluded today without the parties reaching an agreement.

"Benfica is happy to keep a player with the quality and morality of David Luiz.

"Contrary to what some reports have suggested in recent days, David Luiz never tried to force a move, he is a model professional, and worthy of the shirt."

Van Aanholt isn't good as CB. Bertrand has returned so for LB we have enough cover.

We're not in the best of form at the moment. It's good to have Bruma him there, but he's not a good enough backup player right now. Alex is currently injured, and Terry is shaking off another back injury. There's hardly any decent back up for any of these players.
