How could Dortmund do that to me? That game was in the bag. Twice. The level of defending after the 3-1 was reminiscent of the first game vs Bayern early in the season. Against Liverpool... They should be ashamed. Now they've drawn my second love. Villarreal will handle this, I'm sure of it. Of course playing at home first again but that won't be problem. A comfortable win without conceding at El Madrigal and a low scoring game at Anfield, Villarreal scoring at least once. To then go on and win the damn thing. Winning the EL would be monumental. It absolutely must happen. It must.

I really want to read the football news online but cannot bring myself to do it.....Places littered with Istanbul 2.....

The wankfest is as cringe as when Gerrard left Liverpool. Fuck football news today.

You guys ever seen this interview with Barcelona VP Javier Faus? Quite interesting..

Original (German)

Translation

«..we dont have corporations or sheiks paying us...»

And what are Qatar Airways? Peasants?

Its also quite ridiculous that peple still put us in top brackets when comes to money. Real, Barca, Psg, Bayern, city, united are miles ahead in spending power. We might have the money, but we dont spend it like crazy for a while now, yet people will always put us next to psg or city, despite they fork out 100m more each year.

Besides if our club is not willing to pay extra 10m on real quality, but instead raises salaries by 10% more than other clubs, all we get are overpaid average players.

Well to be fair, he's talking about wages and tax %s in Spain compared to England so what he's saying has grounds.

The tax rate then in Madrid was 54% and Barcelona 56% so as much as they want to pay them even after tax, they still can't pay as much as PSG and Chelsea can. As he says, footballers talk to each other about their net income. He even says Alexis left because he wanted more money (as one factor, in keeping it fair).

Let's think about all the player we've "stolen" from under our rival's nose. Willian more recently from Tottenham. While Willian can say all day long it was about Chelsea as a club, I'm sure we gave him £10-20k more than Tottenham were offering. Not saying that was his primary reason, certainly then we were still more attractive proposition than Tottenham from even a football standpoint, but it's a factor you can't ignore.

They'll win it and all be magical!!! Fair enough they did well and that but it's how much you hear about it!

Remember when they almost won the league and we said this country would be unbearable to live in? It'll be as bad if they win the Europa & qualify for the CL -_-

  • 2 weeks later...

Bit of a something and nothing last night, got bored of it in all honesty.

Good to watch Kroos and Modric just buzzing all over the park and picking passes out for fun, what a joy. Makes you realise just what we lack in our midfield when they are finding passes and fizzing balls into tight areas from nothing.

Good game, but both teams can do better.

Bayern and ther players were adamant that they got more chances than they expected, but if they are honest they only got 2 real chances. The Alaba shot was covered by Oblak and that Martinez header was easily held.

I was surprised Alaba fell for Torres only move. With a bit more luck our good ol' Nando would have decided the tie already.

Expect a much improved, more incisive BAyern and a more consequent Bayern, hopefully with Godin back, so BAyern will not get as many chances.

What I don't get is that Simeone got Correa, Carasco and Vietto on the bench and still plays Torres? Nando got a bit of maturity to his game and not producing as many turnovers as he did here but the other players would offer a bit of pace and some moment of surprise,
