^^^ Think there were rumours he had a poor attitude in training, hence not playing much.

Always read big things about him when he was in our reserves, typical Chelsea though. Not having a dig at AVB, but to say youth will get a chance shows how confident he must of felt in the first team to produce the goods and slowly integrate players like Josh and Gael in. Now because of how poor our first team is, I think he would rather buy proven quality and try secure 4th spot which won't be easy at all. Our club is one of few (can only think of Man City) that don't give youth a chance, Arsenal do, Utd were flying with Cleverly and Wellbeck. Liverpool even play younger players. But we seem to talk it but never give them a chance. Part of our downfall I guess in one way. In another we spend so much money buying proven quality that youth will never get a chance. sad. All the best Gael.

Im sorry but (same as we did with Sturridge) Fergie had to loan those 2 to a prem club before he even dared give them a shot, its hardly like he played them out of nowhere.

The worst part is, City had a pretty good youth academy before the new owners came through. Quite a good few players came through from there, and they've still got a very good crop. It remains to be seen if those players will get their chance now.

Yeah but he still signed unproven talent like hernandez and put faith in him. We sign a young talent in Lukaku but never play him....not to mention the price tag...We have no youth policy anymore it seems.

SFor all the latest reports and transfer rumours, visit our dedicated section here.

Nice have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners to land Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta, according to L'Equipe.

Don't Miss

The 20-year-old Frenchman, who made a controversial move to Stamford Bridge from Lens in 2007, is expected to join a Ligue 1 club during the January transfer window.

Even though Saint-Etienne and Marseille were both apparently interested, it had been thought that Dijon were leading the chase for Kakuta’s signature.

However, L’Equipe have suggested that Dijon are not in a position to meet the youngster’s wage demands and Nice are now allegedly ready to pounce.

Nice are currently 17th in Ligue 1 but Kakuta, who has been capped at every under-age grade level by France, is reportedly willing to move to a smaller club in order to secure more regular first-team football after the failure of his loan spell with Bolton during the first half of this season.

Huge mistake in my opinion. We still haven't really given him a proper chance at Chesea.

Agree 100%. He should be given chance in our squad to play alongside quality players. He is still better than Malouda, Kalou, so, will be really good to give him playtime NOW!!!!!!!!

Oriol? Ivanovic?

To be fair we're prolific at securing lower league loans and periods of stagnation prior to being sold on at a cut-price fee.

Yeah, and then you remember this is the same club that rejected Cristian Erikson when he was 15. 4 years later, we're back chasing him
