Bit tautological to use Liverpool and Disgusting in the same sentence. Some of those comments are not acceptable, he should be facing police prosecution for that. Some of those comments are unacceptable, he should be facing police prosecution for that. What he said to Ferdinand was out of order, what he said about assassinating Ferguson and Evra is beyond words. I agree with the OP, shocking stuff in a Western country in 2012. Shocking anywhere in 2012.

Who does he think he is, posting crap like "I think you were poor today @cesc4official you had better apologise to the fans."

Break his fucking keyboard, he's clearly one of the cunts who acts all tough behind it but when you meet him is a timid little kid.

I know it's good to support one of your players, but when you're supporting them when they are clearly in the WRONG!, it's just stupid. Liverpool fans = worst fans in football. Don't think i've ever met one respectful, doesn't talk about history all the time, and isn't a cunt fan, infact havent met one of each they all have those traits.

This is all a result of the propaganda that Liverpool Football Club spread about themselves. They've all ingrained this mantra of "My club, right or wrong" in the brains of the fans for years. That's why even when a simple statement is made by someone representing LFC, the fans will all immediately believe it.

The way they threw Torres under the bus after he handed in a transfer request - just to hide the fact that he wanted to leave a shit club because he wasn't happy they weren't doing the things they had promised him - is the best example. They did it not because they were pissed off at him but because they were embarrassed at their actions and didn't want their fans to know. So what happened? The fans didn't focus on that fact at all. All they could see and think about was JUDAS JUDAS JUDAS. If they hadn't released those statements and had simply let it go, thanked him for his service blah blah the fans wouldn't have had such hatred about the transfer.

Same thing regarding the Suarez issue. The moment Dalglish came out and defended him so vehemently and stupidly and those players came out with Suarez shirts on, the fans were brainwashed. If they had said "no comment" and/or publicly accepted the decision and accepted that what he did was wrong, the fans would have criticized Suarez instead of defending him in this disgusting manner.

Yup they are on the whole an unsavoury bunch and racism has no place on Shitter or anywhere else

There seems to be a wider issue here though - the printed media is on teh decline and is deseperate to create more soap operas in football so they can have an issue running for days/weeks with little talk of the actual football.

It’s a shame that football fans have swapped trading insults for trading complaints. A football stadium was, traditionally, an arena in which social norms were relaxed; a place where adults could drink, swear and generally let off steam for 90 minutes. Now we have to permanently mind our language in case someone in the row behind us complains. It’s the over-zealous health-and-safety culture of the spoken word: ‘You can’t say that, someone might get hurt.’ I think fans need to call a halt to complaining and rediscover the old-fashioned art of taking it on the chin. If we don’t, we’re on the slippery slope to becoming a nation of police informers.

The fans still seem to think Sureaz is the victim....how?!?1 Wherever he meant it or not a racist comment was made by him towards Evra.Obviously he was gana get punished and yet its Evra's fault.Like when the player in the FA cup game got upset from abuse, some of their fans seemed to think it was his fault for taking it to heart and making a fuss!

Then you have Daglish saying its not Suraez fault about the handshake..he didnt shake his hand so yeah it is his fault. The mentality of some of the fans...and Daglish is crazy
