Paul Pogba, not John Stones, should be Chelsea's No. 1 transfer target

Have to agree here. Rather spend the money on Pogba then Stones.

What's wrong with both?

It still seems odd how Italian teams have become so cheap in loaning so many players from the continent now when in the 80`s and 90`s they run the market.

somebody said they are financially sound now but yet they have loaned Cuadrado instead of buying him or getting somebody else for the longterm. I think Pogba for cash plus a player, say Ramires could very well be possible. something strange about Ramires not being involved in the squad this weekend but no news about why.

It's hard to figure out what CM is appropriate because we don't know about chemistry and if a new CM would fit the play style. Poignant ticks a lot of boxes but we still would need better back ups.

If Pogba isn't coming Chelsea could pick up 2 of Nainggolan/Witsel/Wanayama and improve the midfield considerably it at most would cost 45 million pounds.

What CM would you like to see in blue? I keep wondering what plan B is because our CM is weak compared to other "top clubs" in Europe and even in the Prem.

Obviously Pogba is a fantastic player or at the very least least will be. From the limited amount I've seen he is quite lazy and pulls the wool over people's eyes with spectacular goals and a nice dribble. I haven't seen much, so I could be very wrong. If I am right, than he isn't the type of player I'd pick to balance out the team. I'd like a player that can run for days, has amazing technique and exerts dominance in the midfield. Jordan Henderson (even James Milner) would be a great pick but that is a dead end; literally zero percent chance of that though.

I think a three man midfield is the best idea. The club has Cesc Fabregas whom is all technique and guile but has no physical dominance on the field. Nemanja Matic; the opposite of Fabregas (he does have a nice touch and pass but the vision isn't there). There needs to be a player that is half and half to give the midfield a perfect balance. Xabi Alonso could have been that player but he is long gone at Bayern and is close to his mid 30s. I don't know anyone out there that absolutely fills that criteria.

You're discussing two levels of players.

Pogba being in the higher bracket and the other three just below at best. If we want a star player, we should go for them.
