Everyone else deserves all they get in terms of the criticism coming their way - but to solely blame Cahill and/or Cech is a lazy excuse. Its times like this that Cahill must be thinking how grateful he is that he was born English and is seen as one of the first names on the England first 11. Otherwise (especially if he was a certain Brazilian fellow) he would be absolutely slaughtered for some of his performances like today.

Hmm, Cahill is capable of some magnificent performances (Munich being the best example), but those matches are few and far between. He gives everything, which is all I can ask of a player, but I, sadly, don't think his best is quite good enough for us.

Thats a great excuse. When Luiz make mistakes he is the one to blame for the result. When Cahill is the one, he is only one out of 11 that had a poor game. The team had a good 1st half, some decent efforts in the second. It was far from a horrendous match, but its really difficult to keep some consistence in offensive terms when the defense concedes 6 goals in 2 matches. The team managed to scored 2 goals against Stoke in an away game.

I understand you and other folks want a countrymen to succeed Terry as captain and CB boss, but Cahill is not this man.

It's not an excuse. Don't be so butt-hurt about your countryman not being in the starting XI and just accept that, today, the whole team were awful. If you cared to read my posts you'd see I'm as critical of Cahill as most people - he tries his best but I don't think his best is of a title-winning standard for a centre-back. Choosing between him and Luiz, to me, is like choosing between suffocation or amputation.

I would play Terry and Ivanovic whilst Luiz is still out. That way we could have Cesar at RB and either Cole or Ryan at LB. Cahill to be shipped out in January. There's plenty of rumours of us bringing one or two top class CBs. Let that fucking happen.

What? he didn't make Messi his bitch at-all, Messi and Fabregas skinned him alive that night. His performance was overhyped because fans had this romantic notion of the lad from Bolton beating Barcelona.

In reality, he was out of his depth and the main reason Barca created so many chances.

He is nothing more than a squad player, and he needs to stop playing regularly, i think it's time we start bleeding in Kalas a bit more when Luiz can't play.
