Cesc starting to sound like a broken record already. Because I swear I heard him say such things at least 3 times already.

I guess he's the one that hasn't moved on.

Well he did join Chelsea after leaving Arsenal and Barcelona so I guess he has moved on. I guess he just doesn't want people to hate him for continuing life somewhere else.

Is he a traitor? No

Do I have the same feelings for him as a Chelsea legend? No

It's somewhere in the middle of it. He was 36 years old. Not good enough anymore to play on top level. We offered him a job to become a part of the staff but he decided to go to the rivals.

He's silly and being used as a psychological weapon by mr Pellegrino against us, but I think he loves the attention he gets.

I always believed in love stories between club and players, so this really disappoints me.

Can't see Totti going to another local club, can't see Gerrard moving to another top 5 club.

It's normal since every reporter probably asks the same question. Also the Arsenal fixture is close so expect a little bit more of that soon.

...and a little bit more Arsenal Mania meltdown

On the other hand, I can't help feel disappointed in his actions. I have no problem with him playing for Manchester City. I have no problem with him scoring against Chelsea.. besides the obvious. The thing that irks me a little is the lies.

I'm not going to play for another English team besides Chelsea.

I'm not going to play against Chelsea.

Those are two that are definitive lies. The contract issue is hard. Nobody knows for sure but you can draw your own conclusion.

It's all a game though. They say those things because that's what fans want to hear. I never believe a word any footballer says when it comes to these matters. It's all about their actions.

More like he doesn't want people to hate him.

But he knows that they already do.

I think Arsenal fans are like Terminator X who are irrational and will just vent hate at any opportunities to an ex player despite the past he had with the club.

Lampard & Terry are part of an elite group of players who have surpassed the point where moving to a competitive rival is 'acceptable'. Throughout Frank's career he has been heralded as 'proper chels', an icon and has acknowledged this, endorsed it and alluded to it himself. He's made countless extra commerical revenue through that special 'proper chels image', via his relationship with the fans. Football is tribal, supporting 'a' particular club is for romantics.. we know 99.9% only care about money, but Lampard was one you thought had a code, a moral compass as a result of his status.

Even if you were right aren't you getting bored of posting the same damn comment over and over and over and over again?

Get a grip, man.

Honestly, I think you have to be naive to believe all the 'proper Chels' stuff in the first place. John Terry is from east London and grew up supporting Man United. If the club wasn't taken over by Abramovich he'd no doubt have moved on to a club that would have given him a better salary/career prospects (he was linked with both Arsenal and Man Utd if I recall correctly). Oh, and didn't he flirt with Man City when they came in for him a few years ago? Pwopa Chels tho init :Goober:

Just appreciate the players for their talent and what them while playing for the club. Don't project stuff on them or expect them to take the club as seriously as we do. It really is just a job for most of these guys.

Let's not fool ourselves. It is never about "love" in professional football. He is a legend because he scored an unbelievable amount of goals, had an incredible number of great performances and won us a load titles not because he loved or pretended to love the club some much. He might very well have developed some affinity to the club, which he displayed e.g. by his friendly and honest communication with the fans and staying here despite offers from BArca, Real and INter. Yes he milked it and got a big contract by flirting with those clubs but that contract was no more than he deserved. But in the end his carreer and also his personal benefits were more important to him and that is totally fine. When you have been at a company for 10+ years and now your contract ends and you get a better offer from a rival company, you'd probably take it too.

The ones outraging about Lampard joining another club have probably been deluded by some imaginations of love. Love is seldom found in football. You, he is not the first club legend to join a rival club after they got no extension. He is a goal machine and a winner, which is why he is a legend and he has continued to be so and we seen that from the other side now. He has never been disloyal to us. Infact he has been loyal to us as long as he was our player. 13 years is a long time in modern football. He will return to the club, because he is a legend and will be loyal again. IN truth to most players football clubs are companies, employers. People very seldom love their employer, even if they have performed well for them for over 10 years.
