The only place to be 11,313
Neil Ashton @neilashton_Roman makes his move: he wants Frank Lampard to stay another year. It had to happen. On Sportsmail Online soon. He's a reliable journo who is usually right about Chelsea stuff!!!Good news if true, not just because it means he'll stick around for another year but it coincides nicely with reports of someone special texting him lately. Styles 9,790
This is just another example of the people who run the club making it up as they go along. These people are incapable of planning and/or sticking to what they decide. It's not even up for debate, we are the worst run club in Europe. robdog and Peace.
Spike 12,049
If he does sign on for another year, this contrat saga has been the best thing that's happened for a while. Nobody can argue that Lampsy has picked up his game since this whole ordeal started. It gave him motivation and a kick up the bum and he put in performances worth of a new contract. He has practically been carrying the team for the last two months. Before that? He was playing very poorly and probaby didn't deserve a contract.MOTIVATION IS KEY! They had a policy, Frank didnt fit, but they have analysed the situation and decided on an 'exception' to the rule.Yes it looks rubbish from our perspective - but trust me - business ain't easy - if we had no policy - we would end up like Leeds or Blackburn...So a 1yr extension should work well for both parties. Some might also argue it's been an inspired piece of 'motivational' business Or, being used as a 'peace offering token' by the board to pacify supporter unrest? Maybe they've actually held talks with someone and got his input - that seems like forward planning. Muzchap
Spike 12,049
I can't fathom people saying Chelsea is poorly run. Chelsea is run quite well, methinks; save for a lot of knee jerk decisions, namely sacking managers.Would you rather be like AC Milan, Blackburn, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Valencia?Though to be fair in defence of Atleti and Los Ches, the financial gap of Liga BBVA is a tradgedy. Real and Barça are smothering Spain to death with a soft feather pillow. Killing them softly.
