Last sidetrack and I'll drop out: great article about Kobe and his perseverance, stubborness, Kobe-ness from a writer who follows the Lakers regularly. This writer was recently named NBA writer of the year. What I love about Kobe is not just his physical skills/ability but his mental strength. Maybe a few CFC players need to sign up for the Kobe System (youtube the commercials).

"But Bynum is understanding Bryant's higher standards better than ever, and that's part of the leading-by-example undercurrent on every team Bryant has ever played on – same as it sticks with every fan who gets such a charge out of him being at his best when he feels his worst.

Kobe does what he does ... and it shows you are capable of more, too.

"It's an 'I'm not going to back down' type of attitude," Bryant said. "I don't care what happens or what kind of injury you sustain. If you're capable of playing, you should be out there and you should play. That's the kind of competitive edge that I want my guys to play with."

I think Frank doesn't want to accept the fact that he's past his prime.

He played quite a lot this season, and wasn't dropped for Meireles as some of guys here claim. A lot of times they played together.

Well if Lampard plays well tonight (if he even plays) I'll be happy but severely dissapointed. Lampard needed to do this all season quite frankly (lol).

This. It's not a fickle reaction as fan to criticise a player, but praise when he does good, that's recognising efforts of the player.. We do it with Kalou all the time. Why is there an "told you so" feeling when this happens?

or maybe Lampard's comments is where we got our info from

or maybe his attitude when sub'd off

or his attitude towards his boss whenever the boss is debriefing him before he's sub'd on

it seems his only defense is his 'legendary status'. liverpool

Touche! Exactly what I felt!

I heard interesting statistic from commentator.

Chelsea lost 10 games under AVB, Lampard played in all of them.

Whenever Lampard didn't play, Chelsea didn't lose.

@FrancoZola you don't have to be in the dressing room to know what he was like. I know for a fact that he was a disruptive influence because what you must understand is Frank is an educated person. Those comments he made to the media were calculated, he's not stupid he fully understood that the last thing we needed as a club was for a major player like himself to bring out the dirty laundry. I have had conversations with Frank in the past while he has been signing my merchandise and he is extremely calculated and he thinks before he answers your question. He knows that the media will fight to the end to produce any sort of bullshit story to derail us and the last thing he needed to do was give them material to do it with.

No, I agree. I'm not on Frank's side in this argument. My comment was aimed at those who are still defending him. When I said "We don't know what exactly he did behind the scenes" I simply meant that we don't have proof since we weren't in the dressing room but I think his actions whilst on the pitch/bench speak for themselves not to mention the comments he's made recently

Maybe, just MAYBE Lampard did that because he genuinely thought that AVB sucked and the club wouldn't go anywhere with him? Still not an excuse though, that is the definition of player power and they should deal with what the club gives them. He may have had his best intentions in mind, but all it does is frustrate the fans even more and undermines his legendary status.
