Rumor has it that Chelsea has actually made an offer of around 17M Euros for 25-year-old Charles Aranguiz from Chile, but until we have more info it might just be agents doing their thing.

He's not even better than Sagna who he'd be replacing. Good player but not an elite player.

That being said, if Arse manage to get Debuchy, Sanchez, a striker, and a decent DM then they should be right up there challenging for the title. At least until their annual injury epidemic or collapse.

That's a pretty nice XI. Still fancy ourselves and City over that, though. Looks like a normal Arse side that'll be bullied by more athletic and physical sides. the worst thing is that he is not even as good as the player he is replacing (sagna) in an already weak back line which just makes it an even poorer transfer. but well what can one expect from arsenal.

He was one of the best defenders in the league lasts season. The only reason the valuation might be questioned is because he hasn't proven he's not just a one season wonder otherwise if he carries his form into the new season then that £20m will be a mighty bargain.

How much is a 25yo Croatian int'l and one of the best defenders in the league last season worth then? There's absolutely nothing outrageous about that. £50m for Luiz, £35 m for Andy carroll are what I call outrageous and not this one.
