Jase 43,479
Backup for what?! Cole still have 1-2 years left in him and we have Bertrand as his successor. Why do we need Olsson?!!
Jype 6,398
Backup for what?! Cole still have 1-2 years left in him and we have Bertrand as his successor. Why do we need Olsson?!!This. Buying him would make sense only if we were planning to sell Cole and make Bertrand first choice with Olsson as backup. Personally I wouldn't be against selling Cole because of the high wages and this year being probably the last chance to get some money out of him but I'm sure he will stay and that's okay too. No doubt he still has very much to offer to the team for a year or two but financially it would be wise to sell him while he's still worth something.Ryan has been very impressive every time he has played for us and I think he is ready to be first choice, if not this year then definitely the next. Hanging on to Ash for too long with him playing almost every match could be very harmful for Bertrand's development and I fear he will leave if he's not going to be first choice anytime soon. His experience will be key for Bertrand's development as he is still very inexperienced at the highest level.Going on the basis that we should play somewhere between 55-60 games next season, I would like to hope Bertrand gets somewhere between 20-25 games, with Cole getting 30-35 games. Cole has clearly benefitted from not playing every game at the back end of this season, he has stayed fresh for the big games and performed in them. And in doing so Bertrand had a chance to play some big games such as Liverpool and Arsenal away which put him in decent stead for the Champs League final. sleazyB 58
Id be pretty upset if Cole left before Lampard. Cole is one of the best LB in the world.

BlueLyon 9,359
Adrian Lopez could be good backup striker for 10/15 mio, but after his oscar dive yesterday against Serbia, he lost his reputation from me. BleedsBlue
Superblue 6,372
I heard an interview from some Italian super agent yesterday, i cannot remember from where but it was his belief that Chelsea's four transfer targets this summer were Hazard, Hulk, Fellaini and Van Der Wiel. In turn Drogba, Kalou, Bosingwa, Ferreira and Essien would all leave.Chelsea were confident in all although not 100% with Hazard, hence the enquiries for Lucas Moura. The original plan if Hazard does join is to go back for Moura either next summer or after the world cup in Brazil.De Bruyne and Courtois will go out on loan next season and Lukaku may also go on loan.According to this bloke aswell United will sign Gaitan and Kagawa and City will sign Dani Alves and Van Persie. If people had the choice now would they take that? Not sure about VdW, but he is one of the best available RBs in the Europe atm.Hulk and Hazard together in 1 team...well sky would have to put 18+ when they broadcast Chelsea KonohasOrangeFlash

Not even joking, but thats kind of got me excited as those were all the players that i wanted at the start of summer (apart from VDW)so that we could play a team like thisCechIvanovic Luiz Terry ColeFellaini MikelHulk Mata HazardTorresThen we have Cahill, Ramires, Lampard, Marin, Bertrand, Romeu and Sturridge all rotating in thereIt would have been fun to take Modric off Spurs though
shellpick 13
We dont know how Lampard will perform next season. Surely he is great and he will be of great help in vital matches. maybe we do not need a new midfield so soon for having Ramires and Mereiles already. If M'vila is not so expensive, perhaps he will be an ideal option.
