didierforever 7,349
Chiellini is out of contract in the summmer,We should keep an eye on him.another stop gap. we would have a 31 year old chiellini, 31 year old iva, 29 year old GC, 30 year old luis if we buy chiellini (i can only think that we would buy him to replace JT). which means a defensive overhaul in a couple of season which is never good. i would rather that we get a long time solution. iseah100 5,612
Varane and Reus next year. That's all. sdrcfc, AswinR, xPetrCechx and 1 other
Mufassir08 2,400
Maybe wages are low in general in Italy, but I don't think Chiellini's is one of them I believe there are more signings available than you present. Hummels is of course a major asset, Godin likewise. But there is also Jerome Boateng. Big player, which could be available when Martinez comes back from injury (&Badstuber). Ezequiel Garay. Still young, and seems to be getting better and better. Chiellini is 31 next summer. I would rather that we spend our money on something younger, with a little more future in it Bayern would never sell Boateng,he has been immense for them.Except for that Garay is good but not world class.Like I said its gotta be one of Hummels,Godin or Chiellini.another stop gap. we would have a 31 year old chiellini, 31 year old iva, 29 year old GC, 30 year old luis if we buy chiellini (i can only think that we would buy him to replace JT). which means a defensive overhaul in a couple of season which is never good. i would rather that we get a long time solution. Long term solution would be good but if a world class player is available on a free than you dont pass up that opportunity imo.

Fair enough,Let's see how Jose and Emenalo handle the CB situation, one thing is certain though that we need a new CB next season.

He is very talented, but needs a manager like Mourinho. He has poor decision making. He is a better dribbler than any one on our team except hazard though. Not a significant enough improvement to spend big money on him, rather spend that on reus and guarantee quality. AswinR

He'll be rotating with James till ronaldo gets injured??

So I would not be surprised if he goes there.
BlueLyon 9,359
If Mou was looking for a top rw he would probably pick one of Maria/Sanchez...but they were very expensive so maybe he is looking for alternative. But i doubt it will be Reus or Lucas or similar player. I think Mou will look for someone with less flair and skill but better workrate and efficiency. Probably experience too.Someone who will work FOR the team but still give consistency and present danger from right wing.

They had a poll of whether or not he should be benched and the majority was yes. Let's go for him haha.

He is quality, but Real Fans want to bench him because he doesnt track back. And he would want to be main guy here and play on Lw, but we have Hazard. AswinR 96
SERIOUSLY THINKING WHO COULD REPLACE TERRY IN A YEAR OR 2.... GUESS IVA CAN MOVE IN CENTER AND AZPI CAN GO BACK TO RB BUT AGAIN LB IS UP FOR GRABS THEN(DONT THINK FILIPE WILL BE PLAYING HERE AFTER 2 YEARS!)....ZOUMA SEEMS VERY PROMISING BUT NEED SOMEONE LIKE TERRY TO GUIDE HIM IN BIG MATCHES..... FRANKLY CANT THINK OF ANYBODY OF THAT CALIBRE!!! BEST BET IS ON VARANE AND GARAY......OR MAYBE ONE OF THE YOUTH PLAYERS....

DM is his best shot at our first team, again imo.I also think we need to address CM/RW as soon as we can. We are undoubtedly a better side now than we were this time last year but we still blew the chance for a season defining victory at the Etihad. That happened because our passing broke down. Badly, and not for the first time this season. In fact we've suffered spells of poor passing in the majority of our games so far and that, imo, is not surprising.Remember it only takes one bad pass to destroy an attack and put your own team under pressure. Had we passed better at City we'd have controlled the ball against 10 men and seen the game out. As it was City could have won because we repeatedly gave up possession. Oscar, Ramires, Schurrle and Willian all struggle with their passing too often. They are very good players but we need great ones and we need them asap.
