TheCount 146
I didn't mean him scoring a screamer from outside the box or anything like that but if the team is having trouble, the least he could do is score from those rare chances when he's either one on one with the goalkeeper or gets a great chance at a header. At Liverpool he was exactly like I just described but now he's afraid to even shoot when he's in a great position. And I wasn't saying Sturridge is the answer but for now we'd be better off starting with him because he might have a future at Chelsea but in the last two years it has slowly become crystal clear that Torres does not and we're just playing him because he cost a shitload of money.Neither player has shown to take any of the easy chances tho and have wasted as much as they scored, therefore Torres being the better player all around is the obvious choice. different level 1,056
Torres has now played like shit for four games straight and even got himself sent off in one of them. Sure, the second yellow card against United was ridiculous but he was lucky not to get a straight red in the first half and that's quite something for a player who was so invisible we probably wouldn't even have known was on the pitch if not for those few major fuck ups.And you saying it's not okay to blame a single player if the whole team underperforms is part of the problem for me. A player we all expect Torres to be should be able to bail us out by scoring a goal out of nowhere when the team is playing badly because that is exactly what the leading strikers of our rival teams do week in week out. Torres is definitely not that kind of a player and instead he hides in his shell if the team is having a difficult game. Don't know about others but to me that is unacceptable.Anyway, that's enough off topic because discussing Torres in this thread is pointless. We all know he's not leaving, even though he should. As I said, I agree there is still huge room for improvement in order for Nando to be the player we expect him to be. I just expressed my disappointment that he doesn't get enough support from our fans and you for example, judging from your post you chose not to give him credit for his good start of the season and decided to slate him for his last 3 matches instead (not counting the Spurs tie because he played well IMO and was very unlucky not to score). DYC. 7,542
If we could manage to buy Villa and maybe sign Kaka on loan in the winter, I'd be a very happy man. Leave the other issues for the summer.
Spike 12,049
Good to see that another thread has been taken over by Torres.I've said it before but Torres is inclusive to everything.Hazard had a good game? Well he certainly played better than Torres.Luiz had a bad game? He was even more worse than Torres!Girlfriend broke up with you? Well at least Torres scored. edenhazard17, Stingray and manpe

BlueLyon 9,359
All Rambo can do is run. I hope we get someone like Benat, who can make long passes, keeps possesion and dictate midfield. Unfortunely, I like Rambos work and contribution, but he offers only stamina and pace. Sell Torres and bring in either Falcao/Cavani or Lewandowskin as cheaper option. Leave the other issues for the summer.Villa? As in David Villa? That is clearly not going to happen. Very good player. Could be perfect for us if he was about 4 years younger. His age is a put off.Kaka on loan will do very little. He isn't at his best as a pure CM (which what we need). He's past it and will come here, give us nothing more than what we already have and collect a high wage while he's at it.
StrategiC 73
Moses won't be a 'world-beater'. He's a talented player like Sturridge..but it doesn't look like he'll be on the same level as Hazard, Oscar. The good thing about Moses is that he's a big upgrade on Kalou.WoW ! just Wow ! KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
Moses will be a first team player in a season or two time. Who on earth would he start in front of? Moses can be a very good impact/rotation player and game changer off the bench for us but I can't seemuch more from him.

He reminds me of yayatoure, he even is a better long range shooter than mikel and ramires. Would be a steal if we get him)
Kojo 4,676
One thing Falcao would add, he makes use of space, Torres doesn't.Torres gets the ball into a good position, he will fuck it up, or if he gets a good cross in a good area... yeah you know what happens.Falcao however, will always make something, and even if it's not a goal he will do something to scare the defenders. Superblue 6,372
CB - i would like Jores Okore from Njordsjaelland. He was superb against us in Denmark, is a self confessed Chelsea fan and only 20 years old. He is also excellent technically and would be a good backup.CM - Fernandinho at Shakhtar was superb but they would take the piss wanting a lot of money. Romulo or Lars Bender would be good buys but i think they'll try and make do when Mikel is away, dropping back Oscar for some games if necessary.ST - would love a swap deal involving Falcao and Torres. That would be the best possible solution to the striker mess we're in! However a cheaper alternatice would be Huntelaar. With 6 months left on his contract he would be gettable for between £5-10m. Not blessed with pace but very sharp in the box which Torres is not!Llorente would also be an alternative with his contract situation also. BlueLyon 9,359
Wtf is with this Huntelaar/Llorente obsession?First is old and was good only in Germany (and he played in Spain and Italy too), second is 27, had one goal in 13 games (out of form) and doesnt fit to our system as he is tall, slow and cant control the ball. I know they would be cheap options, but in that case, if we cant get Falcao/Cavani, Lewandowski would be great also for 25mio. Romulo is exact copy of Yaya Toure and only 21. Unfortunely he is injured till next may and I dont see him going in bigger club for at least one year. Then if he continues with his performances, I realy hope we get him. Right now, Fernandinho is also great option, also Capoue, Benat and Bender. The Skipper, Ramires7 and Spike
BleedsBlue 1,549
Romeu just needs some more game time and then I am sure he'll be back to his original self.January still far away and I am sure RDM will gradually give the talented Spaniard the time he needs. So yeah,I don't think the club should waste their money for another cm. Also don't forget over the last 2-3 years the German league has grown much stronger. He has excellent off the ball movement and natural predatory instincts which Torres doesn't seem to have. He wouldn't need to have blistering pace because of the way we play, just being able to finish chances which he no doubt can do.And have you thought why Llorente is in such poor form given the way Bilbao and the fans have treated him for not signing a new contract?
