It is true he has underperformed but Chelsea played arguably their best football vs Wolves. I recall drogba not contributing much in that game at all

Next few games are difficult but crucial: Newcastle, Valencia, Man City, Wigan and the Spuds. From then on it though gets a lot 'easier' and if results go our way we could end up in a great spot by the end of the year. If we can string these wins together, I fully expect us to get the majority of the points from the 6 games succeeding the Spurs game. Beating Newcastle this weekend will mean we jump into the top four. Psychologically this victory is paramount, a win - be it scrappy of whatever - should bode well for our confidence levels. We must salvage some sort of building blocks for the Valencia game.

Mmm.. Lampard?

Like eldo said, last week's team would be effective. Romeu in holding, Ramires & Meireles ahead of him.

My point wasn't the players selection, but the formation. Since Sturridge and Drogba are strikers and Mata a n°10... If you know what I mean.

This is such a tough game. I don't think we're going to win in all honesty, but it's a new month and it's a new start, sort of.

The line-up I'd like to see:

Cech

Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole

Romeu

Meireles - Ramires

Sturridge - Drogba - Mata

then bring Torres on in the second half because he always looks very focused and dangerous when he comes on from the bench.

this may be dumb but how about we run a five DB formation

5-3-2

cole-terry-luiz-alex-ivan

danny---lamps----mata

----drogba----torres----

reasons for this... and hear me out...

1. luiz can finally advance down the field without sacrificing our back line, and he can come back and play defender which is good for our back line..

2. gives danny more room to advance up and play whatever he wants to do

3. give that torres drogba a go... i think its time for AVB to TRY it... lukaku just doesnt have the pace for that thats why it didnt work against, liverpool...

4. make torres and drogba work together cause they both want to start, so it would be smart for them to WANT to work together to be that striking duo that everyone DREAMED of...

Cech

Ivan Terry Luiz Cole

Meireles

Ramires Lampard

Sturridge Mata

Drogs

Still not exactly sure why AVB played Lamps the full 90 against the bin dippers with this crucial run of games starting Saturday, but I still think he'll start this one. Drogs looks to be the favored Striker at the moment.
