🇪🇸 Juan Mata

Was very, very poor today. One of his worst performances for the club. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt though having been a long, hard season and his numbers are fantastic.

He played a critical pass to Hazard to set up the first goal, just saying.

Plus being down to 10 men didn't help on the fatigue front.

I feel he generally struggles (in relative terms) in stretched, end-to-end games like today. He's not built for these games.

plus put in BA for the one-on-one with guzan in the 1st half. played a couple of delicious cross which ba could not come at the end of.

i dont think he had a poor game. its the level of performance and impact that we are accustomed to mata playing at, which makes us think that way.

The Dubious Goals Committee has ruled that Chelsea’s goal against Man Utd on 5th May 2013 was a Juan Mata goal

Strange decision. Mata's shot then was definitely going wide and it's supposed to be a Jones OG. But since they want to give it to Mata, not complaining then. 1 more goal for him and that adds 1 more assist for Oscar too. :D

My first thought was that the ball didn't travel far enough to say it was definitely going wide, especially with the way the balls move nowadays. I think it's absolutely the right decision for both Mata and also Jones.

The shot did look it was going wide, if you see from the goal position angle. The deflection of Jones directed it towards the goal.
