Atleast we can now know he will be held to account.

Was worried he'd get unconditional 90 minutes like he did under Mou at United.

I agree but we are losing a lot of our dynamism and fluidity with Lukaku. Chiesa is a goal scorer at the very least.

True but again, we have seen with Costa upfront who was more of a penalty box player that this can work much much better, because of this I wouldn’t necessarily panic on the attack just yet. Not fully anyway.

Lukaku will get his X amount of goals this season undoubtedly and we will win more games/points than last season but out of Werner, Pulisic, Havertz, Mount, Ziyech, it is concerning on who plays.

We need to find the right 2 to play off him as he’s undoubtedly going to be the number 1 CF. That is clear. Regardless of if people think he’s the right man or not. Who is going to be the best players to combine with him? Who are going to contribute goals, assists, key passes regularly too? The front 2 of him and Timo doesn’t fill me with confidence. You could argue we have too many options in that positions and there are some who are very similar players bar Werner and I didn’t even mention CHO who is an attacker on paper.

Yet neither are CFs which this team needed so its a pointless comparison. Both would of been excellent signings, Hakimi especially, but still still leave us short uptop because if there is one thing we have seen from Timo and Kai is they still aren’t fully dependable as strikers at a big club.

The irony with this is that we've gone from complaining about missing chances to not creating enough chances etc.

Thought he would of done it sooner, he didn't play well at all. Issues in attack with not releasing it quick enough is one thing, his play today was also not good at all. Obviously perhaps its not going to happen overnight but shoehorning him and Werner together in a front 2 doesn’t look exactly brilliant yet either.

Well, given all the love Tuchel has been giving Lukaku, I thought he would never take him off, whatever the circumstances.

Playing Werner and Lukaku as a front 2 is a work in progress and thought they looked alright together in the first half today when we controlled the game.

The thing is with that is Conte and Mourinho are the kind of managers who build teams around individuals whereas Tuchel seems more about building teams around systems and then fit the players into the systems. I mean, Tuchel was hardly able to create a cohesive unit at PSG with the likes of Mbappe and Neymar around. Even Pochettino, another system based manager, is experiencing the same problems and this time with Messi in the mix.

Based on recent evidence, I would throw Werner and Mount with Lukaku. Since Lukaku isn't gonna move much, then put players around him that will actually move around, provide the pace, energy and ability to create something etc.

The only signing that has made me genuine sad. It really was sign that decision making in this club hasn't improved a bit. I was angry at first but mainly sad after. I gave up any hope we will win anything but I am not even among those fans who put trophies first.

Kepa signing rinse and repeat. 97 millions transfer fee. 325 000 a week are about 85 million for five years.  Around 180 million total for a player who never had any capacity and quality to take us forward. Who could only dismantle good foundation we created at the end of the last season.

Makes you wonder who are decision makers in this club. Who of them saw Lukaku as a player who can bring PL or CL to the team that already struggles?

If we hadn't have options why didn't we show some faith in the players that have won us CL and explore our options next season?  With around 100 - 180 millions in pocket. It baffles me.

The most absurd signing a club that is not called Barcelona has ever made . What will be our transfer budget next summer?  Senseless , pointless and costly mistake.

Hindsight 20/20 but 170 million for both Chiesa and Hakimi would’ve been far better.

Lol, were you not aware how aggressively some of us were against signing Lukaku? It was obvious from the start this was going to happen.

I think Traore would be a good signing, I don’t know why people are so aggressively against him.

Problem is most, if not all, of us see no hope that Chiesa will come here. We have to shop elsewhere.

Good to see him show some courage and actually make the sub, but have a feeling that his reasoning will be that it was because of the international break and hence the excuse.

He is starting to become a problem. Many on here warned about his limitations and inconsistency as well as the huge economic burden his signing put on the club. He looks 100% the player he was at ManUre and Everton. Brilliant at times but unreliable when you need him. Really needs to step up. He and Timo are starting to develop better chemistry and the team needs to play to his strengths more for him to be effective. There were tons of situations were he or Timo could have been released but Kovacic, Kante or Chilwell completely slept on the pass. So frustrating. That being said, i have no doubt we will find ways to create chances better for him but he looks just as erratic a finisher as the rest of our misfiring attackers. Obviously, we know he is a big personality but the way he behaves himself on and off the pitch is not just confident but testament to how he really overestimates himself. Remember, he said he rarely makes the wrong deicisons facing towards goal.Yet, he had three of those situations and made a mess of it. He missed two good chances. His passes to Timo were terrible. He really thinks of himself as Haaland's big brother but he is basically just a bulky, more experienced Tammy Abraham.

Like I said before being mobbed by the madding crowd on here, Hes the modern day heskey!

Probably poach 2 strikers that give us more options for the price of him.

Unless he has a complete turn around it would be stupid not to sell in the summer.

Torres could end up being a better signing.
