Hamilton 2,120
Lukaku was happy after his 45 minutes yesterday. But he knows that he needs to play to become Belgians number one striker again."Our talk opened my eyes" (talk with Leekens that he needs to play) "I'm making progress but i need to play more. I miss the full stadiums and playing for a cheering crowd. "I stay with Chelsea if the coach leaves. But don't get me wrong, i have no issues with Villas-Boas. A lot of teams are interested(loan-deal), i even heard that Anderlecht is interested, i will go to the team that want me the most."I hope the translation is good enough.. Not really a surprise, but players know more than most..
Nic! 301
I think he knows his situation won't change next year when AVB is still in charge. When a new manager would come, he might get more playtime and think about staying.
BleedsBlue 1,549
It would be a tragedy if Lukaku decides to leave Chelsea for good.I can't see him leaving permanently but a loan move will definitely happen. If he does get loaned out,he should go to some premiership club,so that he gets a chance to have some vital experiences in the league.By 2013/14 he should be starting for us but this all depends on his loan move.I honestly would suggest that AVB should play Sturridge as our preferred center forward and keep Lukaku as a potential back up but then again the Torres fiasco must also be dealt with in the summer.Whether he leaves or not will play a huge part in Lukaku's career.Whatever happens though,I just hope Chelsea don't buy a world class striker like Cavani or Higuain because then the chances of Sturridge being a regular starter as a center forward and Lukaku getting a fair amount of playing time will be dampened. nadavTKL
Sheva. 5,373
I don't even know why we bought him, he won't play over Torres and Drogba, we have Sturridge, and if in any case Drogba and Torres leave, we will surely buy someone like Cavani or Falcao. So he still won't play. Bosnian Blue

Having someone better before him for some years is good for his development - he can learn from them and have competition. Once Drogba and Torres leave, he will start getting more gametime. Can you imagine a 18-19 year old being our main man upfront? I sure can't. Sheva.

You're probably right, thing is he will get easily frustrated by not playing for us, like Borini and many other talented youth players did, and will want to leave. Aussiedan 154
In the next year or two his not going to play much, that's fair to say, his only 18, his going to be a great player I have no doubt about that and their is no way will we sell him, but at this stage his not good enough for our first team. I reckon we'll loan him out next season, that's if we pick up another striker or two, but it would probably be best for him and for us if we do loan him out. The Big Drog 1,110
I dont get it at all. He has looked pretty decent whenever he has played for the first team and shown a great work ethic. Why is he constantly ignored? I understand that he is 18 but even so, other clubs play young players, we have one that we paid 18 million pound for, you would think that would be worth at least one Premier League start. the lad seems disillusioned by the situation at Chelsea and why wouldn't he be? robdog, Bosnian Blue, Rambo and 1 other
Krypt 241
He needs a couple of seasons out on loan then we need to give him a chance if he has impressed , there is no point spending nearly 20 mill on a player then selling them without being given a chance. Atholy 1,293
Latest news in Belgian is going about a loan BUT he will stay in the EPL (according to his manager Christophe Henrotay).Chelsea met Lukaku's manager in Paris yesterday where things were discussed. Chelsea would prefer him to move to a club in London, so they can follow his progression from up close.QPR and especially Fulham are in pole position to get Lukaku on a loan next year.Good chance that Romelu will be playing at Craven Cottage next season since Moussa Dembele also plays there!Lukaku was told (by our National Squad Manager Leekens) to play more OR to risk the chance of being dropped out of the national squad for the upcoming qualifiers for the WC'14. francozola 2,040
Fulham really fucked the Kakuta loan up but if we can insert a clause stating that he must play a certain amount of games like what we supposedly did with Courtois and McEachran, then I guess they would be okay.. QPR - please god no. Thankfully it's looking likely that they'll get relegated.
LDN Blue 7,903
Well with Zamora gone and Andrew Johnson's future in doubt, Lukaku to Fulham makes sense. Only if he'll be their primary striker though. He'd also relish with Dembele & Dempsey's service.
CHOULO19 24,332
^^Have to disagree mate. We should never loan to fullham after the way they treated Kakuta. Plus, Jol is far from the ideal manager to nurture Romelu's talent.
