Have to wait and see. I wish it happened under better circumstances but I really enjoyed seeing Kai as false 9 again. We simply don't have that fluidity playing with a vocal point. It's going to be really really infuriating if we build some momentum with this system in the next few weeks (easier opponents or not) only for Rom to be thrown straight back in. Magic Lamps 11,692
Watch us look like a proper team again now. However we will struggle to break down stubborn defences without him again. Defenders will feel a lot more comofrtable facing CHO or Kai instead of big Rom.  robsblubot

yup, which is why we all agreed that a replacement for Giroud was needed - and one who could contribute more often/better - but also someone who could sit on the bench when the game was more for Kai as a false 9. I was honestly expecting someone younger, in the same mould of Werner age/experience wise. Tammy just couldn't deliver that, so we needed someone a bit more ready. Lukaku's price tag (and whatever surprises we may find in his contract) alone kinda prevents that from happening. Magic Lamps

I did read a quote from his agent that said Rom always returns faster than predicted because of his strength and he has a physio at his home that works with him every night. laura90 556
Maybe winning Cl made Tuchel believe he was some kind of miracle worker. Who knows. But he wasn't happy chap during an after match interview when Lukaku coming was imminent. He was rather melancholy and unhappy talking about others who didn't want to come. Act of desperation from his side, if correct. Was he pressured to win the League?  We could get Cl place with the team that had won us CL, that was achievable. Board denied Conte Lukaku, fast forward 4 years with uncapable strikers, we got Lukaku after being rejected from our first choice. This disaster seems meant to be, I can't help feeling we were bound to get Lukaku whoever was in charge. Why they didn't deny Lukaku again? What has changed from 2017? Did Tuchel go to Lukaku's wiki page, checked his stats and decided it's my striker? Had he watched him? If he had, and still made that decision, he is waaay below Pep or Klopp.. If he is to be blamed for 100+ M wasted... Such a shame.

Blues Forever 1,232
Just now, Tomo said: Every signing turns into a board signing when they have a few bad games. I'm starting to have my doubt considering Tuchel still doesn't know how to use Lukaku properly. Tuchel made Lukaku as a target man which clearly not his game at all. Our attack also became less fluid than last season and more predictable, Lukaku atm just not suited for Tuchel current system. Edited October 22, 2021 by Blues Forever

We're screaming out for a creative mid and a defender They should sell lukaku in summer and bring in haaland IMO, Unless lukaku changes it around and nets us into glory!

I don't see any reason why Ray would not have known the truth or would have lied about it, so that settled the matter for me. Shame on Carlo. I knew Nando was not a good footballer, and said so frequently before he was signed. There is no excuse for Carlo. In Rom's case I feel that someone in the club hierarchy wanted to prove a point from all those years ago. Wanted, in effect, to say, "See we were right about this bloke all along." This is just gut, not based on any evidence or indications. ZAPHOD2319 4,819
Rom not called up for the International break. Hopefully he is staying in London to rehab. Quote Christian Benteke and Divock Origi return to the squad and there is a first call-up for Dante Vanzeir, the top scorer of the Belgian league’s surprise leaders Union Saint Gilloise.

I think it was more to do with him not really having much interest in squad building/having much understanding of transfers. Apparently he is more a coach who just wants to be on the training pitch then go home, hence he doesn't really get involved in day to day business or follow what is going on with potential up and coming talents. As I said, it is just a rumour I heard that I am passing on rather than something I think is 100% true.
