Actors, models, singers, golfers, tennis players, rugby players, cricketers, f1 drivers, cricketers, basketballers, nfl players, hockey players, etc, are all pretty much set financially by the age of 18, but you wouldn't see them having kids in their teenage/early 20s. Football/soccer players are mostly uneducated/uncultured in Europe, hence you see a lot of stories like Courtois. You will see all the top football/soccer players had kids in their teenage/early 20s, and that's nothing to do with their financial situation. NFL players definitely have kids at an early age. Watch any senior night for college games here. You will often see the players with their kids on the field.  They have kids early because women view them, rightfully so in most cases, as a way out of their own situation. You get pregnant by an athlete early, you are set financially down the road.

Yes that's true for African American athletes, but not true at all, for White American athletes. Just look at Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, Peyton Manning, Aaaron Rodgers, Gronkowski, Ammendola, Foles, Matt Ryan, all of them had kids once they were around 29/30, or some even haven't had any. OneMoSalah 8,886
Why does it matter how old he is and how many kids he has? What the actual fuck is going on. Basically all I've read is something along the lines of 'Oh he might leave because his kids are in Madrid' and 'why does he have 2 kids aged 25', what do you want the club to do next sign players with no kids, no girlfriends and make them get the snip haha? Amblève. 4,995
It's par for the course for Courtois's Chelsea career that he conceded Messi's first goal ever vs Chelsea - always in the shadow of Cech. Nothing he could do about the goal, though.

Magic Lamps 11,692
He is such an annoying babbler. Why does he have to talk about Madrid every week. let him rot in the u18 until his contract runs out when he is not signing that new contract  Luckily there are so many good goalies out there, who might not have the same control of the area as courtois but are better on the line. and most importantly are top professionals. Alisson Becker, Jan Oblak, Donnarumma, sergio rico, heck even Butland could do a job and would be good for our homegrown quota. Then are Trapp and Leno. Plus in Bundesliga where traditionally the standard of goalkeeping is highest in all top leagues there are tons of very good non-german goalies like Hradecky and Gulasci. Might even pounce on the one of Neuer and Ullreich who loses out at bayern next season. The most important reason however if we were to lose Courtois to Real this summer was setting a dangerous precedent. Hazard might follow and maybe other top performers. Beigl 1,387
His constant ungrateful behaviour drives me crazy. He should show more respect for the club considering we ditched Cech and Lollichon for him. kellzfresh and manpe
El P. 1,354
As many others have said, there are plenty of fish in the sea, if he decides to leave. After all, Caballero wouldn't be bad first choice either. Worst thing about his possible departure is Hazard wanting to leave too. "I'll sign if he signs", lol. kellzfresh and Leif
Popular Post! DYC. 7,542 Posted February 22, 2018 Popular Post! Share Posted February 22, 2018 Fuck that. Caballero first choice? Reminds me of the ridiculous cries for Begovic to start. Neither are good enough to be Chelsea's #1. I can't stand subpar goalies so I can only hope Chels manage to replace Courtois properly if he leaves, which is a lot harder than it might seem. pHaRaOn, manpe, Tomo and 3 others

Hes a brilliant goalkeeper but we can't wait forever, it looks even worse having been offered a contract and not signing it until another 2-3 months after receiving it. Fair enough if hes overly keen on a move to Madrid, sign the new deal, make some sort of gentleman's agreement with the club, get us a huge fee in return.... won't happen but. I think he'll end up signing it eventually anyway.

Alan Partridge 1,124
He’s a quality keeper but I wouldn’t be desperate to keep him if he doesn’t want to be here. Not so loyal to A Madrid either it seems. kellzfresh
Leif 6,006
Including Man City, Caballero has around 25 Premier League appearances, with 3 losses. It's not playing a random goalkeeper - it's playing a guy who was joint-best goalkeeper for a year or 2 in Spain, then came to England and did the business for an all-out-attacking Man City side which had a very vulnerable defence. I've not once thought 'Oh shit, Willy won't save that.'  El P.
El P. 1,354
If Thibo decides to leave, we will buy someone, don't worry. But to have let's say Donnaruma and Willy as back up might end up a lot of playing time for Willy, because Donnaruma isn't proven yet. It would be different with Oblak ofc, he is already class GK. Having Donnaruma and Willy sharing minutes until Italian settles wouldn't be bad. Not perfect like now, but not bad.
Jase 43,479
Worth remembering that Donnarumma's agent is that pesky Mino Raiola. Will probably have to pay a fortune of agent fee on top of the transfer fee to buy him.
