haranr 485
he was shit for years. and that hasnt changed this year. he had one very good year for Gladbach and one decent year at Bremen. thats it. he was and never will be "world-class" or one of the best wingers in the world. futhermore he is injury-prone as hell. only because he whos some nice tricks on youtube doesnt means actually he is good. his tricks are useless in a normal, professionall football match. futhermore he really has like no muscles and gets blown away easily. this guy ist was just a failure in the first place and we should sell him, if there is a decent offer. schΓΌrrle is way, way, way better than he probably will ever be.@Damyanov oh yeah he is called the german messi..HE MUST BE GOOD. robinho was called the next pele you know. and piazon was called the next kaka. and and and. this "german messi" or whatever bullshit comes up from the media, who tend to over-hype players. he was called that, when he played quite decent for Gladbach and made a lot of tricks. he is not even 1/10000 of what messi is. and he will never be. it seems that people on here have watched some YT videos of him showing his tricks and think he is awesome..no, he is shit. and that for YEARS.I can see it that you don't like the player doesn't mean he is not good. Shit for years? Are you serious? He got better and better in Manglbach and in Bremen he improved as well. He was their man, like mata and hazard for us. We don't need a world class subtitute winger. He should be given a chance or in Chelsea or at another club but loaned out.

Duppy Conqueror 1,537
Loan him out for a season. his stock shouldn't get any lower than it is now but it could get higher as he has shown the ability to look good in weaker teams. then sell him next season. yuvala and Hutcho

Not a bad idea. Just a matter of where. But it could either, increase his value or give him some confidence to perhaps have another go at getting in our first team. Rubber bullets 1,183
The fact that he was ignored by both Roberto Di Matteo and Benitez (who allowed people likes Moses, Lampard and Cesar a bigger place in the team after being pretty much ignored by Robbie) to me speaks volume that he is not rated by those who see him everyday in training. Should be sold instead of a loan OneMoSalah and Tomo

BlueLion. 21,491
We need squad depth, and cover. If Hazard is injured next season - Heaven forbid - you'd seriously be happy with just Moses and Andy for the wings? Are you desperate to see Oscar, Dave and Rambo out wide again?

Are you desperate to see Oscar, Dave and Rambo out wide again? how many covers do we need for this position?KDB can play on the wing too, you have forgotten?atm we have: Hazard, Oscar, Mata, Moses, SchΓΌrrle, KDB who all can play on the wing. hell, even torres can play there (as last option). And Oscar on the wing wasnt that bad, how people make him out to be.Also looking how Marin played...I would definetly prefer Rambo to him, yes. BlueLion. 21,491
Oscar and Mata on the wing? No thanks.Schurrle, Hazard, Moses and Marin = job done in 2013/14.J. Cole, Robben, Duff, SWP = job done in 2005/06.

Are you desperate to see Oscar, Dave and Rambo out wide again? moses, schurlle, kdb. because as i see we have 6 players for 3 position behind the striker (mazacar, kdb, moses, schurlle), keeping marin is a waste of a space for a youth player/homegrown player. Rambo 1,729
Lets not forget who was doing the picking.Indeed, but I thought Rafa and Yossi didn't get along at Liverpool? ja1 1,166
Lets not forget who was doing the picking. Here we go with this myth. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jul/11/rafa-benitez-yossi-benayoun-liverpoolThis is what Yossi said about Rafa when he left for us. Guess it just shows how poor Marin is when Rafa and Yossi don't like each other and he's still picked ahead of him. There's no point keeping Marin as 7th choice attacking midfielder, to the other guy above. We have 6 players for 3 positions which is perfectly adequate. Do you think we need to allocate a slot specifically for a 9th choice defender? I'd prefer a youth player to be used as those roles. Styles 9,790
There was no favouritism involved in Benayoun being picked over Marin. It's well documented he and Benitez never got on. He was simply a better option than Marin and was trusted not to let the team down when given minutes. It tells you everything you need to know about Marin, that a 33 year old physically knackered player like Benayoun, who the club tried to get rid of that season only to be sent back by West Ham no less, was preferred over him.To think some people want to waste another year on Marin is mind-boggling. Jase 43,479
Indeed, but I thought Rafa and Yossi didn't get along at Liverpool? And it's not like he was played much during Roberto's spell either. TBF, Marin was like half injured most of the time during the season. And given Benitez was under pressure to making sure that we continue to win as much as possible, he was never really in a position to give Marin lots of game time and chance to play him into form. Had to play those that is fit and ones that can come in to do a decent job immediately.
