coolhead23 1,147
Still want AVB to stay and see through his contract. Sacking him means we would have to start all over again, If someone has to go then i believe it has to be the players (in bulk). There is f****** no passion when they play. Our present team can be more or less compared with the United team of today (in terms of ageing and young players) but look at them, the way they play : total commitment, dedication and they play for everything like a team. And us, there is nothing called as passion. Seriously for some players Chelsea has became a place where they can enjoy their life on the club's expense, they are the ones who need to go not AVB. LDN Blue 7,903
If he gets sacked he'll go to Inter, sign Lucas Moura and Ocampos while Chelsea keeps Lampard and co.Exactly. This is total bullsh't, the lack of sight this administration has to recognise the obvious player mutiny. Which should only be responded to by telling them to either put up or shut up. What a stupid preference this board has to the players than managers.
laura90 556
If he goes, he'll realize he committed managerial suicide at the beginning of the season by trusting this vile bunch and giving them all a chance to prove themselves under him. Stabbed in the back. That is one point of view, but very questionable. The way I see it, he did not have the reason to to trust in them. Given their age , their roles in the team, their capabilities and the most important their weaknesses. Who can claim for sure he wanted this team in the first place? OK, he said he is happy, but what can he say? I have no funds to bring more suitable players? Lukaku was not his signing and probably not even Meireles (panic buy). What I'm trying to say, these players stayed because the club could not say buy to them from one reason or another. Not because he believed in them, it was not his fault. In my opinion anyway. One can blame him for taking this job under these difficult circumstances, but for not being active in transfer market? It's not all up to him. And he has shown interest for various players, but that is more less everything he can do, without support.
Laylabelle 9,539
Its gotta be hard as well coming in midway through summer with little time to acces their weakness and work out fully what sort of players he needs.Last if he stays he'll have a clear idea

Blue Armour 4,459
I have to blame the board for not giving AVB more support...I think the team feels that their manager is close to getting the sack, and have thus lost a lot of their motivation. Why else would the performance levels (from everyone including Mata and Ramires) drop so drastically over two months?

That can be seen with the pursuits of Modric, Perreira, Willian, Lucas, etc. I'm not apportioning blame for that. The point i was trying to make was that he probably realizes now just how unprofessional some of these top name footballers are. He's 33 and it's his first really big job, he's worked here before and knows these players so chose to trust them with the objectives the club set out with. As the summer window came to a close though, the 40m bid for Modric demonstrated that he might have started to think he was a bit too trusting. Give AVB time ship out the old guard and bring fresh hungry players in (like Jose had).2. Sack AVB bring in someone (who would want this job other than a big payoff) then let the old guard play on and down the table we slide.

Why else would the performance levels (from everyone including Mata and Ramires) drop so drastically over two months?Dino Ron and oldman Bruce coming out and supporting Andre and stating that players are the ones to blame would be the right move.AVB needs to be assured that board still believes in him and to regain some confidence of his own. It's tough to lead a team when you're wondering do they want me here?
Bir_CFC 3,455
People wanted him to go crazy in the transfer market. It's really unfair to ask him to do that in his first year. The manager has to have a chance with the team he has, he needs time to work with them before he decides who can get out and who can stay. If he woulda told half the team to fuck off and we were doing bad then everyone would have been like why the fuck didnt he keep so and so. A manager who dismantles an entire team and the players in his first year is stupid, you need time to do that. That said he could have done something in the winter window, but we all know how hard to buy someone in that period is.Anyways, I hope he stays, don't see how sacking him will help matters at all.
