  1. He's actually been getting worse for the past 2 years. The decision to buy Torres made no sense. He was clearly a player on the decline. I think Roman bought him so that he couldn't score goals against us for Liverpool.
  2. Apparently we enquired about Torres, just like United and Liverpool did whilst he was an Atletico player in 05/06...Atletico asked for 25 million and he ended up signing for Liverpool.. And then 5 years later, we end up signing him for twice the price tag. I'll never understand the Torres signing.
  3. Sturridge would be better suited playing off a target man or in a 2 striker system. Playing him on the wings in a 4-2-3-1 system just leaves our RB/LB more exposed. I'd be surprised if he stays at Chelsea beyond this season because he's not getting many minutes and he's not suited to the lone striker role.
  4. We win and we're through. Hope Sturridge starts the match.
  5. City have 3 goal scoring forwards (excluding Super-Mario, not even playing). We have none.
  6. We finally have a proper RB in Azpi. Ivanovic was alright at RB but he never seemed 100% comfortable.
  7. Clearly its Cahill - Luiz that isn't working together. We seem to do fine when it's Terry - Luiz, Brana - Cahill, even Terry - Cahill.
  8. The day Torres leaves Chelsea, everyone will be happy.
  9. Chelsea were asking too much money? Malouda couldn't agree a deal with 2 Brazilian clubs and even Lille/Lyon decided to pull out of negotiations when they saw his wage demands.
  10. Rubbish game, pathetic result. Basically to sum up: RDM uses Cahill - Luiz..even though it's our weakest CB pairing RDM uses Mikel - Romeu..even though we didn't really need 2 DM's RDM uses Torres who is just useless.
  11. They might be financially weak but from what i've heard from Milan supporters/followers, they want to build the new team around El Shaarawy & Mattia De Sciglio (young promising defender). I don't see them selling unless someone pays over the top money...like 35-40 million.
  12. I think we already have 2 young central defenders with alot of potential. Kalas (on loan at Vitesse) & Chalobah. In the case of Chalobah, he'd make a great midfielder or defender, he just seems to have that maturity beyond his years type of personality.
  13. I'm guessing if Torres is included in the Falcao deal, Atletico might lower their valuation by 5-10 million.
  14. If Ashley Cole stays that's great..but I would not be surprised if he leaves. I just hope he joins a club outside of England.
  15. Why would they do that? Dumping Malouda was a step in the right direction for Chelsea's new system and youthful talents.
  16. Luiz just needs discipline, someone experienced with a cool head. He tends to do better with a 'leader' playing alongside him. eg. Luisao at Benfica, Thiago Silva for the Brazil NT, Terry at Chelsea... But i agree that Luiz has been below par of recent times.
  17. I never understood the Benayoun signing. We pay like 5 million, play him in like 5 games and then loan him out to a rival London club for the rest of the season (we actually strengthened Arsenal's squad depth by loaning Yossi to them). And then this season, we loan him out to West Ham. Hopefully Essien does come back and stay at Chelsea. He'll add depth to our DM/CM positions as well as extra cover at RB/LB in case of emergency. Kakuta just seems better suited for a mid table club, as in, somewhere he'll be able to "express himself" without too much pressure. Your right about KDB, can't wait to see him play for Chelsea.
  18. We should just play Luiz with Terry or Ivanovic alongside him. Whenever he plays with Cahill, it's like both of them become shite defenders and we start leaking goals.
  19. How would you know that Bamford is "10 times the finisher that Lukaku is"?....Bamford's only ever played in the reserve or youth teams. There are plenty of young strikers who score goals for fun in the youth or reserve set up...but most of them end up getting sold for a minimal fee to a lower level club or released on a free transfer. As for the price-tag comparison, Lukaku has the ability to be a class talent and a starting forward for most EPL sides. Bamford is just a homegrown kid, he'll either make the bench at Chelsea OR he'll be playing Championship level football in his mid 20's.
  20. Scholes never left United though, he just 'retired' and joined United's youth coaching team.
  21. I could never accept Darren Bent playing for Chelsea. He's a former Spurs striker. Let's invest in a youngster with plenty of ability...someone like Aubameyang in the summer. @SeB, your the french league expert on this forum, what's your opinion on Aubameyang, could he play for a club like Chelsea?
  22. http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2012/11/inter-agree-deal-for-villarreal-forward/ Not sure if this rumour is true..but Inter are doing well in the transfer market under Stramaccioni.
  23. I think Lukaku had a reality check in those games against u-21 players. He was basically a talented young striker, starting to establish himself in Belgium at club and international level..and then he joins Chelsea..and within a few weeks, he gets dumped into the reserves. I'm glad he's learning and making mistakes as a West Brom player. For Bamford, a Championship or even League one loan spell if he's guaranteed first team football.
  24. I don't get all the hype surrounding Bamford. He seems like an average striker, will probably end up playing Championship level football in 2-3 years. The striker we should of kept was Borini, that kid just looked a class above the reserves and he seemed to be a pretty handy finisher.
