I see similar players on completely different levels. Reus could become a top-class player. Schurrle will probably become an above average player but nothing special. I know a number of Bundesliga followers who have been very impressed by Lars Bender and Carvajal's development at Leverkusen but when I asked them about Schurrle, they said he's good but nothing great.
-
I've seen a number of Leverkusen games this season and he's looked average in a number of those games. He did really well against Gladbach in February...then went missing for a few games, did well against Stuttgart in March...then went missing for a few games and recently he did well against Dusseldorf.
-
Good to see him stay at City...hopefully he picks up a few injuries in the coming seasons.
-
How is Schurrle more physical than De Bruyne? Also, I don't see how Schurrle fits in at Chelsea. He's not that great as a winger (probably just better than Marin) and as a striker..8 goals in 27 appearances isn't the best record. We need a striker and a proper winger (like Di Maria). Schurrle can play both positions but he's still an average player.

I reckon we'd have to switch to a 3 man midfield to see Mikel show his more creative side at Chelsea. We could potentially have a midfield containing: KdB - Mikel - Ramires/ someone else

Is Chalobah ready for the first-team?

I wouldn't say people are way too obsessed about our youngsters...but it's always good to see a talented youngster break into the first team...something Chelsea hasn't seen for a long, long time. Also, when a youngster breaks into the first team, it provides proof that our youth system is doing its job. I get that Chelsea need to improve, win trophies & with the right manager in place, I think we can achieve the right balance between high-profile stars and potentially 2-3 youngsters in the first team squad. -
If we can get Falcao for 30 million, then I'd be satisfied. Anything above 35 million isn't worth it, we can invest that money into our midfield.
-
I doubt Begovic would want to join Chelsea as the #2 goalkeeper. I think our best option would be to sign someone similar to Pantilimon or Lindegaard...
-
He's got the talent to be a top-class defender but I think for the time being, he needs to stay at Roma...or else his development could stall. I reckon Chelsea should try to sign Jores Okore..he's young, he's pretty physical, he could be a leader of the defence in the future and he likes Chelsea...
-
One bad game out of 20? If that was the case, no one would be complaining.. I think Mikel has had close to 7 or 8 bad games out of 20...
-
That's bullshit. Petr Cech is a world-class goalkeeper, he's not leaving Chelsea. Maybe Atletico don't use Courtois in Europe because they want to keep their #2 goalkeeper match fit?
-
It's not about being the scapegoat. He had chances to score in all those games..and as a 50 million dollar striker, you would expect him to score the winning goal in at least one of those games.
-
Don't really care who plays, just need the 3 points.
-
The good thing about Mikel getting a ban is that Romeu will be able to play 3 consecutive first team games in a while.
-
We can draw Spurs from round of 16 onwards..
-
Yea, its unfortunate for Sturridge. If we never signed the 50 million dollar blonde, Sturridge would of been given more opportunities in the first team. I'd take a young, hungry, slightly selfish striker over Fernando "finished" Torres anyday of the week. He'll do well at Liverpool.
-
Yea, even after some truly awful performances over the years, we somehow manage to give Mikel a new 5 year contract. We're stuck with Mikel now, even though he'll never be a great DM.
-
I personally reckon that Guardiola is smart enough to avoid a club like Chelsea. He'll need time to build a new system at Chelsea..but knowing Roman, he'll probably be shown the door like AvB or RDM.
-
How are we going to play with 2 up front? We don't even have 1 striker...when teams like United & Citeh have 3-4 quality strikers. Torres is beyond repair, Sturridge has fitness issues.

If we can't beat this Danish team, then we have some serious problems amongst the players. I'm expecting to see a draw or Juve win in the group's other match.
-
It hasn't gotten enough praise because everyone knows Barcelona are one of a kind. When all their players are on song, they are simply devastating.
-
How is Benitez messing us up? Our counter attacking football in the first half was pretty good, we were in control, its just NONE of our players took their chances. If the players fuck up in front of goal, how is that the manager's fault?

Absolute rubbish second half performance That's what happens when you don't take your chances. We should of led by 3 goals at HT. Only Mourinho knew how to win 1-0.
-
should of killed off the game in the first half. We need to be more clinical in front of goal.
-
The way we played against City and Fulham was pathetic. I'm expecting a 1-0 loss.
