Hopefully we can offload Torres and bring in a better all round striker.

Imagine Bony & Lukaku playing together up-front. The sheer strength and athleticism, that would be awesome to watch. Bony for anything under 10 million would be a bargain..but I agree with DanishBlue..signing him would affect Lukaku's chances of breaking into the first team in the next 2-3 years.
-
Both good young midfielders..I like Strootman but PSV won't sell in January unless we pay 25 million. Also, there would be competition from Fergie if we tried to sign Strootman, cause he's been on United's wishlist for 2-3 years.

Yea, I remember a few good matches by Bosingwa (before the major injury) but the rest of the time, he didn't know how to defend. I'm glad he went to QPR, hopefully he can help them get relegated from the premier league this season
-
Not entirely convinced about RDM just yet. If he can get our shaky defence sorted out, then keep him as the manager for the long term. Would be awesome to see the Special one back at Chelsea at some point in the future.
-
Cahill needs a more disciplined CB alongside him (eg. Terry or Brana). Luiz is a good player, he knows how to defend..but he needs to seriously improve his decision-making, I mean you can't just run half way up the pitch whenever you feel like it.
-
If only we could play Sturridge more often..and get him to sign a new contract.
-
The sooner Torres leaves, the better for Chelsea.

Just hope we win. I wanna see Cahill-Brana at CB. I just don't like the idea of a pest like Suarez going up against Luiz.

Chelsea in pole position for Guardiola

Definitely agree. Barca's defence is pretty weak but it's covered up by their excessively high possession of the ball. I mean if you can retain the ball for 85+% of the game, the other team has limited chances to break through & score a goal. -
This. I remember the first game between Celtic and Barca at the Camp Nou, they only managed to win by a goal against an organised defence...then in the following league game, the Rayo boss hits out at Celtic, decides to play an open game against Barca and his team gets rolled 5-0.
-
Hazard's help for Bertrand was exactly what you would expect from a CAM/winger. Bertrand just had a very poor game, thats it. Hopefully, he learns from this game & shows his true ability in future games for Chelsea.
-
Well..if you were on the bench for 80-88 minutes nearly every game and you saw the person ahead of you in the pecking order, do nothing on the pitch apart from link-up play, you would be expected to have a bit of an attitude.
-
If Azpi develops in the next 1-2 seasons, I see Ivanovic being played as a CB more often. I liked the look of Cahill-Brana at CB against Swansea, they look like a better pairing than Cahill - Luiz. I'm not gonna hate on Cahill or Luiz..but clearly there is a lack of understanding between them, which just makes our defence look open and extremely vulnerable.
-
Good work by Celtic, particularly Fraser Foster (in line for England debut as GK) & 18-year Tony Watt for scoring the winner against Barca.
-
Marin's a winger, I remember when Bremen tried to play him in the CAM "Ozil" role..he looked out of his depth. Willian is like our attacking trio..he can play at CAM or on either wing when needed, I just hope he doesn't join Spurs in the summer.
-
Bertrand definitely isn't ready to play against the bigger teams. He looked out of his depth at LB...hopefully we give Cole a new contract.
-
Well Torres is the most likely reason why Sturridge has yet to sign a new contract. He knows he's just as good, if not better than Torres atm...but what can you do, we're sacrificing a talented young striker who isn't afraid to shoot in order to keep the hopeless Torres as our main striker. It's clear that Torres should be the one to go first..but considering no club would be stupid enough to pay him 175,000 a week...the chances of Torres leaving in January are very low.

http://www.weaintgotnohistory.com/2012/11/7/3611600/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-wallace-fluminense Apparently we had 50% rights for the talented youngster as part of the Deco deal...it's great if we have signed him (our RB spot will be solid for many years to come with Azpi and Wallace) but I'm taking this with a pinch of salt. Need to wait for some official confirmation.

@Rmpr, How do you know RDM will become a brilliant manager in 4-5 years? That's just estimation. I'd never say no to Pep or Jose..but RDM won the UCL so deserves the chance to coach Chelsea until the end of his current deal. If RDM does well enough, Abramovich will keep him on board...if he doesn't meet Abramovich's standards, then maybe we'll see a new manager at the helm. -
Watching Arsenal fail to win another game is just awesome. And City are basically out of UCL in group stages for the second time in a row.
-
Barcelona's squad depth is crazy. They can afford to rest Messi. At Chelsea, Hazard & Oscar are still adapting to English football and/or learning each others game...hence we'll see some mixed results without Mata.
-
I think Essien just needed a change of scenery and some words from the Special one to motivate him once more.
-
Likely Ins: A Striker cause Torres just isn't clinical in front of goal. A DM/CM cause I'm not convinced about Romeu.. My option: Capoue. Likely outs: Malouda to Brazil or France.. Maybe Sturridge?
-
I personally think Ramires' strongest position would be in a 3 man midfield. That way Mikel does his usual job at DM, Oscar/KDB can control the tempo of the game and Ramires gets a bit of freedom to join the attack or sit back and help out Ivan/Azpi on the right wing against stronger opposition.
