  1. It's his money and this club is a business at the end of the day. I don't mind the way he treats people. The only manager he should of kept was Mourinho. Everyone else had a valid reason for getting the sack
  2. Yea, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1221975/Rafa-Benitezs-229m-spending-spree-The-76-players-signed-Liverpool-managers-reign.html Rafa went through 76 players. The majority of the players were bought for 2 - 6 million...but he spent 19 million on an average Robbie Keane, spent 20 million on an injury-prone Aquilani..and also spent close to 12 million on Babel, who didn't even want to join Liverpool in the first place.
  3. Who cares about Le Stade de Reims, they've got nothing to do with Chelsea.
  4. That was 4 years ago and you can't blame him for saying that, Anfield nights are always so passionate and memorable.
  5. Every manager has to gain respect at a new football club. RDM wasn't the right person to lead Chelsea forward anyway, that was made clear by the board from day 1 of his managerial stint. Benitez is a decent manager, I never thought he'd coach Chelsea but at the end of the day, he's only here till the end of the season. We might as well support the guy.
  6. The issue would be..who's gonna play the 'Alonso' role at Chelsea? The most likely option would be Oscar, sitting deep and trying to control the game.
  7. His preferred formation was 4-2-3-1 during his time with Liverpool
  8. Rafa used to hate Drogba, I think I remember in one of our many UCL battles with Liverpool, in the press conference, he said that he created an entire file about Drogba and his 'theatrical diving' on the pitch.
  9. I'd play Cahill instead of Luiz. Other than that, I like that lineup.
  10. It should be Juve, Celtic & Galatasaray as the final three teams to qualify.
  11. I don't know about the Club world cup, Corinthians are a fairly strong team. But I do expect Chelsea to win the Capital One Cup.
  12. Let's see how good Benitez is. I personally don't see him as an 'upgrade' on RDM.
  13. DAMN...so we'll be stuck with Rafa for the rest of the season.
  14. What the hell, why is there a Liverpool fan on the Chelsea forum?
  15. You know who else is available...RAY WILKINS.
  16. It's looking likely that either Rafa or Harry will come. No other self respecting manager would take the CFC job.
  17. Yeh cause David Moyes wants to leave Everton, where he has been brilliant with the limited funds and take a volatile managerial job at Chelsea.
  18. I don't think it's about refusing to sell Torres..it's more like, no club owner with half a brain would take Torres and his excessive wages..hence Chelsea are stuck with Torres.
  19. Let's just get Harry, even though he's a former Spurs manager. Rafa hasn't coached in freaking 2 years.
  20. Guardiola won't come to Chelsea, it's too risky. And I doubt the Special one will leave Madrid anytime soon. Why sack RDM now? The only managers available are: Rafa, Grant or Harry. He deserved to stay, at least until the end of this season. At least give him a few months to try and sort out the problems....but no, this is Chelsea and we just love SACKING managers.
  21. I don't think the issue is about retaining the UCL...it's more the embarrassment of being the first ever champion to get knocked out in the group stages.
  22. Who is Garnt? If you mean Avram Grant...he did lead us to a UCL final. Although, if RDM does get the 'sack'...I hope it's not Rafa or Grant or some other mediocre manager.
  23. In terms of a new DM, another option could be Ettiene Capoue. He's a talented DM, with the ability to slot in at CB if needed. He's been on the radar of English clubs since the end of last season, Arsenal & Spurs scouted him twice, QPR put in a bid for him..but Capoue said he'd prefer to play for a 'bigger' club. Definitely agree about the need for 2 strikers and a new CB.
  24. Goal difference doesn't matter. According to UEFA's tie breaking system..if two teams end up on equal points after all matches have been completed, the team with the higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question will qualify through to the knockout stages. Juventus have obtained 4 points from us, hence even if they draw at Shakhtar, they'll go through based on Uefa's tie breaker system.
